  1. Can someone give an idea of what the range of prices by the drink is for wine?  I know it will vary, but a rough idea would be great.  They have two packages, one for beer, wine, champagne for $40/pp/day, and one that includes spirits for $60/pp/day.  So, if the price for a glass of wine is $10 or more, not too bad of a deal.  I"m looking at a 10 day cruise in Oct 2021 out of Istanbul, and they are offering either a $600 on board credit, 6 shore excursions, or a drinks package.  Thanks.

    Hi Crosboro,

May I get the following info from you?

    - What State do you live in?   Idaho

    - When were these cruises supposed to take place?     Cuba was last October, this year was in August

    - Who told you this? "that requires that I must take a cruise" They didn't explicitly say that.  For the August cruise, I was told that it would carryover to the next cruise (I opted for the 125% offer from Celebrity), and for the Cuba cruise, I was told by the TA that she got a 2 year extension.  I'm ok with the August resolution, but not with the Cuba one,

    - Which company (ies) were your policies with? Both with April Travel Protection.

    Thanks.

  3. I have now had two cruises cancelled through no fault of my own.  The first was a Cuba cruise, when the U.S. shut all travel to Cuba down, and the second this coming August that the cruise line cancelled.  Both cruise lines (as well as 3rd party tour companies) have either refunded me, or offered a future cruise.  However, the trip insurance company has not offered any refund, despite the fact that they have no liability at all.  The most recent one has been extended to a future cruise, and I was able to get the first extended for 2 years.  But, that requires that I must take a cruise.  I feel this is unjust, and refunds should be made.  Has anyone received a refund?  I imagine they have profited quite well with this stance.

We are booked on Sirena for March next year so I very much doubt that we will get there now unfortunately. We certainly do not want to do a Caribbean cruise as Cuba was the drawcard. Hopefully we will get our deposit returned from Oceania. As we have already booked our flights on Air N.Z. to LA and return, that is another credit I will have to sort out.  We are just so disappointed that your Government has changed the rules.

It wasn't our Government--it was the repugnant Trump!  We're very disappointed too--have been thinking about Cuba for 3 years and had finally found a cruise that was ideal.

  5. Any suggestions for which tour company to use in Juneau? I'm looking at Shore Excursions Group, as they have a city/glacier tour that we're interested in. Others seem to have shorter tours. Not interested in hiking, whale watching, etc. Just the city tour. Thanks.

  6. Planning to do a cruisetour in Alaska next year and am curious as to what thoughts are about these two lines. We've done Princess in other areas, never Norwegian. Significant cost differential between the two.

Any thoughts about one over the other would be appreciated.

  7. Actually somewhere in between that casual asking and the browbeating. I guess I forgot to say repeatedly asked, kept coming back to the question. Just was not happy with it.

Yes, they gave me something for it. The same print that you would recieve if you signed up for their credit card.

Ok, I'd consider that a bit of browbeating. Or obnoxious, and have to say, I'd feel the same way. Thanks for the explanation.

  8. Was not happy as they questioned me about how I arrived at my guess. Not about what I recieved.

I don't see anything wrong with being asked that. Seems to me that asking how the winner arrived at their answer would be a natural question. You know, sort of "Congratulations! How did you come up with the answer?"I'm sure there would be interest in that from those who guessed wrong. Unless, of course, they browbeat you.
