Just requested access to the excel concierge list.

The spreadsheet of current concierge’s is incorrect then. It currently says Willie is the Mariner Concierge. It is actually still Tao.

Good catch. Host Clarea, do you know who is responsible for keeping the current concierge document updated? Tao is the current concierge on Mariner, not Willie.

On the Oasis, is there an opportunity to order a mixed drink during a show such as "Cats" or "Stand Up Comedy"? I'm guessing no because it's awkward, maybe even rude but it is a cruise ship?
I have seen waiters walking around taking drink orders, but it is probably easier/quicker to just go to the Theater Bar.

Hi folks,
I was looking at the deck plans for Mariner of the Seas. I didn't see the Connoisseur Room/Cigar Club anywhere. Is it still on Deck 5?
Thanks,
Baryton/Rusty
Sadly, they unwisely got rid of the cigar lounge, and replaced it with a library. They is a cigar smoking area on the deck, and I believe it is well utilized.

Hi All- Sorry to bring this up again? I looked at the document for current concierge's on Mariner, and it looks like Tao is now gone? When did he depart?
I would like to know this too!

Mariner is a tough one to research right now. It just came out of dry dock, where it received many upgrades/renovations. Additionally, the current Cruise Critic photo album on Mariner (https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/mariner-of-the-seas-274/) is woefully lacking when compared to the other RCI ships, example (https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/liberty-of-the-seas-389/.)
There has been talk on here that Cruise Critic will be updating this album to bring it to parody with their other RCI albums. So my advice is sit tight and keep monitoring these forums for updates.

There will be 5 of us staying in a grand suite on Mariner of the Seas this coming October. I know that Grand Suite and above guests have a reserved area on the sun deck where there are loungers for them to us. This is a huge perk because finding a deck chair is always such a hassle if you get up later than 9 AM. Where is this area, and do you think 5 of us will be able to find loungers? And do you need to show your card each time you go to and from this area?

I dont think the staterooms were renovated.
They did add some new ones on the upper deck.
That is incorrect. Most staterooms, if not all, were renovated with at least new carpet and other similar upgrades.

As we know, Cruise Critic has some of the BEST and most FANTASTIC photo albums of each ship. I would go as far as saying that CC albums are the most complete out there, covering every restaurant, bar, stateroom, and any other venue you can think of. For example.....
Explorer- https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/explorer-of-the-seas-186/
Adventure- https://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=192
Harmony- https://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=983
However, you will notice that the album on Mariner of the Seas is very much lacking compared to the other RCI ships.

This is because Mariner was sailing out of Asia for many years. Now that it is back in the U.S., do we think CC will send a photographer on board so that it can update Mariner's photo album to be on par with the others? It would be a shame if such a nice and newly upgraded ship did not receive the same attention on here as her sisters!
I would also like to see Cruise Critic do this. Hopefully it will happen. While there are member posts on this forum which contain photos of the newly renovated Mariner, Cruise Critic should update/complete Mariner's official photo section so that it looks like the other Royal ships.

there were pictures at one point because that's what i had looked at prior to my wife and I cruising Mariner in 2013 out of Galveston; before she was repositioned to Asia.
I see. I do hope Cruise Critic fixes the photo section of Mariner once it comes out of dry dock, so that it is comparable to the other ships photo sections like--- https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/allure-of-the-seas-530/
or
https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/navigator-of-the-seas-264/
It is disappointing the way it is now, and they have done such a good job with the other ships.

Mariner is getting a major overhaul. i'm guessing all old photo's have been removed until she finishes up with her refurb out of dry-dock i believe in late June.
I don't think they removed them, I just do not think CC ever took the time to do a professional photo album like they did with the other Royal ships, perhaps bc Mariner was in Asia. Hopefully that changes when it comes to the U.S.

I tend to research the cruise myself, then book through an agent as they have access t exclusive promos sometimes.

Hi CC- I am looking for some detailed photo albums of Mariner of the Seas (aside from just googling it.)
I saw Cruise Critic has a section of photos on it, linked-here--
https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/mariner-of-the-seas-274/
But I think I might be looking in the wrong place, as the album seems really incomplete compared to the other photo albums CC has on other Royal Caribbean ships. I did see a post where someone else asked about this, and people were saying that CC will complete the Mariner of the Seas album after it comes out of drydock, at at which point Mariner will have a photo album similar to the other Royal ships. Any truth to this?

As long as you have your mental faculties about you, and are in relative good health, I don't think any age is too old. In fact, Malaysia's new prime minister is 93, and is very sharp and physically mobile. If a 90+ year old can run a country, then they can cruise.

Never mind, just seeing all of the other posts about it!

Hi everyone, new to the forums. We are thinking about going on the Mariner of the Seas in October/November. Does anyone know when she will go in for her dry dock? I believe her Asia cruises are already over, or are close to being complete. Thank you!

Thank you. Just requested access to the document linked in this thread.
Is the link to the concierge excel document you posted earlier in this thread incorrect then?
