  2. Hi I`m cruising on the `SUN` February 2023. from Malaga, Portugal and Canaries.  first time with NCL I am a Solo passenger and cannot find anything on their website regarding solo meet ups arranged, meetings, and or solo dining room tables.

Usually on other Cruises there are arranged meetings etc., or tables pre-arranged reserved for solo passengers from the onset to introduce yourself etc.,    Can anyone assist here.   the Chat online to NCL was unhelpful

    Thank you

  3. Hi.   Im looking at a cruise for Feb 2023......as a solo passenger......sadly most offers for us are not the best cabins in /or a reasonable price..Has anyone been on deck 1 of the Borelias..........thats whats available.    Im a little weary of engine noise or drone.... being so far into the hull........ would appreciate any views from previous cruisers  on this ship.......its an 18day cruise to cape verde, so want to be able to sleep without operational noise

When Fred announced at the end of last week that his Baltic Itinerary for May at the end of last week was being modified and gave the replacement port calls for SPB, he also gave £150pp OBS to everyone.  I wonder if P&O will follow Fred and Saga with an extra perk?  It would be a nice gesture if they do.

I have also seen a report of a Celebrity cruise having it's new itinerary published today, so perhaps all the RCI brands have published them.

.In response to my post, of yesterday, re revised itinerates, from Ambassador, and confusing t*cs. over refunds,  it would appear from the above postings, that other cruise lines are offering refunds....whereas I have been given a definite NO I... received a call from the T/A.  today who contacted Ambassador, with revised  Itinerary, as I thought just put in 1 extra port, and overnight at Stockholm, (counts as 2) , they said definitely no refund offered only a transfer to another cruise. and 4 days to make up my mind., As the change from SP is only counted as 1 port. its not counted as a major change. according to the T&Cs..and .I`ve paid in full. This Cruise line has just 1 ship, and this is its maiden year,  so single cabins are fully booked, looks like no alternative but to accept....not very happy.

  6. Hi Cruisers,

New to this Forum, so any information would be a help,  After 2 failed attempts ) 2020, and 2021) to sail on this cruise with C&M, (went bust)_ I booked on the opening day through an Agent for the Baltic Cruise & St Petersburg, 12th May 2022, Sadly owing to the current Ukraine war , the itinerary has drastically changed, just looks like a Swedish, sail ride ow, which is not of ay interest to me.   Also all the other cruises available (If offered are booked up).     The T&Cs on  Cancellations or refunds are a little complex. and I don't want to wait another year,,,,, any advice or assistance would be of help as Im having problems with the agents.

  8. Hi everyone.        Had booked a cruise in  oct 2019 for St Petersburg and the Baltics on Columbus, for  September 2020...    but owing to Covid.....   in March I transferred  it to Sept 2021  paying the additional Admin Fee.    As I could not contact the Travel Agent...... now C&M have gone into Administration.... Does Anyone know if my deposit will be refunded....or will I have to claim back on Credit Card.....have tried repeatedly to contact Travel Agents today and previously   for months who wont even reply to my emails. Are deposits refundable by Atol in the UK

  9. Arrived home 1st October 2019, after a very  tiring cruise on the Dream.  Cabin 1024, 10th Deck set back from  all other cabins but 1 metre away from GYM DOOR WHICH WAS  LEFT WIDE OPEN, from 8am until 9.30pm ,the noise of Weights dropping and other  equipment echoed,  and vibrated into the cabin all day long.   After  which  cleaning and maintenance by crew staggered from 10pm..... and at times 1am.. to 2am , with attendants arriving again  at 5am onwards. No response from reception, about closing the door and complaints, made... although the passengers did respond the crew did not.   Unable to get a decent sleep.  The crew vacuumed the stairs at 1.30pm between decks 9 and ten. then talked, sitting down on the stairs afterwards......  Whilst the cabin was comfortable, the noise was not.

On enquiring prior to booking I was told there were a number of Solo passengers.    I was  one. of three (other two were young men).  no facilities to engage with other passengers  were made.    very poor/none existent  service for single passengers

Whilst the Shows in the Broadway theatre were good.   The Bars catered for mainly families and couples, so was unable to socialise with others

I found the Cocktails appalling. as did others , they consisted of 90% Mixing Ground ice. without taste, and served with a straw standing upright  like a stake on an iceberg.  The DREAM has to qualify for the worst Barmen...….. But the best in saving ingredients.

On the whole the ship was clean, tastefully decorated, but very noisy in all quarters,   Queuing was the norm., and disembarking during excursions was Chaos, on each deck, stairs with no form of control by  stewards.

The Food was reasonably nice, but not much variety,

Overall this was a family oriented passenger list,  and entertainment was focused on the Loud, Noisy bars, which echoed through to the cabins and corridors,

A ship Ill give a miss.

  10. Returned from Pride of Panama on 10th April.   On the Discovery 2. The ship does not go through Panama Canal, but docks in Colon…. But most of us booked the Excursions to or Through the Canal.   I chose the one which was heavily booked early.   You are taken by coach to the lake, then board a ferry.    It was an experience well worth doing, as you follow those ships and pass through the locks with them. right through to Panama and the Pacific side.   A view worth taking in …. then return to the ship via coach from Panama.  A long day but well worth it.

  11. Thanks Paul,

That's just the answer I needed, have booked the nearest to the Sauna away from the lift (I( think).  Its always best to seek help from a previous cruiser.     As for the Gym, well I just may take advantage, depends on the menus.

    Take care

    Kath. ☺️

  12. Thank you both... There's not much choice or difference between views offered in 1021 or the remainder of cabins on deck 4.   So I think maybe I should wait until July in the hope that there's a cancellation of a Full Window cabin, When finall payments are due.

I Should have booked a cabin earlier ...my mistake

    Thanks to you both

  13. Hi

Just returned from Cuban Fusion and Pride of Panama. and realised how important booking cabin in advance is....

I`m  booked on Marella Dream in I  September 2019. but rang to ensure I had an Outside WINDOW... not a porthole, and all cabins booked. only a few single outside port on deck 4 again only porthole... but there is one on deck 10 with a window apparently but small and obstructed view.    Im wondering whether to book it or wait in case there are cancellations     any help regarding this with previous cruisers.

    Thaks Kath

  14. Hi     I'm cruising for two weeks end of March on the Discovery 11  back to back cruises .. Cuban Fusion and Panama … Cant find any information as to whether you can dine with other solo travellers ... and pre meetings for solo travellers.... has anybody any information .

I cruised for the first time with C&M in July to Norway.  and they arranged a meeting on the second day where we all introduced ourselves. after which we dined and met at various venues for companionship and shore excursions together . That was my first cruise. and Im a little apprehensive as to the lack of information available.  Seems to be a lot for Children and Teens and Families but not for Solo travellers./

    Any help out there
