  1. We haven’t cruised Carnival in a few years and are surprised that the Sail and Sign cards are not given when checking in.  I am just curious as to the rationale behind this change.  Does this make “checking in” and the embarkation process faster?  Doesn’t this pose a risk to passengers when the Sail and Sign Card is left exposed in the stateroom mailbox?  Please help us understand?  🤔

  2. There have been almost no reports back with photos of any kind, except for What Bill & Maryanne posted as part of their World Cruise Blog: https://cruisingwithbillandmaryann.blogspot.com/2018/05/report-127-embarkation-day-may-10-2018.html Scroll down the Day 127 Blog and there are link to 2 PDF files where they did post some very nice pictures.

I'm seriously starting to think they are banning cameras and video equipment on this vessel, or she is sailing empty ..... LOL

    :') Me too!!!

  3. I can understand completely with the desire to see what the MS Amsterdam looks like now. My husband and I will be cruising to Alaska in August and have never cruised on Holland America before. Lately, I have felt somewhat obsessed in searching for pictures. The excitement is getting the better of me, what can I say? Other than those posted by Bill and Mary Ann on their blog, the pictures have been rare.

    https://cruisingwithbillandmaryann.blogspot.com/ So be it.

When we go, we will plan to take pictures of our room, etc. on embarkation day to supplement what has been shared. I am uncertain if we will be able to have an opportunity to take pictures of a Vista suite or Lanai stateroom as has been requested, but we will do what we can and post our pictures after we return.

  4. Just a heads up: My sister will be on the Amsterdam to Alaska August 5-12, and will be posting photos to her blog as she goes (twocruisingsisters.wordpress.com). She'll also post a link here for those who might like to follow along. She promised to take lots of ship photos. (She would tell you that herself, but she's otherwise occupied with visiting her grandsons in Virginia at the moment.:D)

My husband and I will be traveling on the Ms Amsterdam to Alaska for the first time in August. I have been very interested in the post dry dock changes and will be looking forward to your sister’s postings!! Thanks!!

  5. When I finally accessed all of the pictures on their blogspot, (Report #127), there were several of the main areas of the ship. They had several of the lanai staterooms, outside and inside, ( by now they may be finished renovating the inside of these room), but there were no pics of the Vista Suites. Looks like we both will be waiting.

  6. My husband and I are very interested in how the Ms Amsterdam has been updated since leaving dry dock recently. If anyone has pictures to share, would you please consider sharing them? We are interested in all the changes and have been keeping up with Bill and Mary Ann’s recent postings, which we have truly appreciated. However, we are both interested in pictures...especially any changes that were made to the Neptune Suites. Thank you!!
