I learned a ton of stuff! About sailing and time, about “I-95” on every Carnival ship! About how the chickens on Kauai are part of the islands known hurricane release plan to save their (the chickens) lives. I learned that Pearl Harbor is now over-run by tourists and it takes the entire day to see specific memorials. I learned that I should get FTTF every cruise! I learned that these great big ships have tiny steering wheels compared to the giant 4 foot wheel I stood helm with while serving on the U.S.C.G. Basswood! LOL! I took the behind the Carnival scenes excursion on my last cruise... I learned a lot!

We are usually offered to sit with strangers if wandering around looking for a table with our hands full of food trays. No problem, we usually end up good cruise friends.

What the heck is too sensitive to cruise?
Bwaaahaha! Can’t figure that one out myself! Claims the crowds freak him out! Told him we have balcony cabins (3 of em) where there is no one but us... lame excuse if ya ask me!

If you paid for everything .... then that 4th person becomes a no show. You do NOT cancel her before arriving on the ship. Once she doesn't arrive, you will get her taxes & fees back in the form you paid it. Such as ... credit card refund if you paid for everything with a credit card. But that is all you will get back ... you will not get any of the cruise fare refunded. But is losing her portion of the cruise fare less than paying for a re-booked cruise?
This is a very difficult life lesson. NEVER pay up front for people. No matter how good of friends you are or have been or thought you were.
There are a lot of threads here on CC about this exact same thing.
You’re absolutely correct! Our friend and lackluster young, no responsibility boyfriend backed out after she paid for the majority of fees as boyfriend supposed to pay her back! Not! Loser merely stated he is too sensitive to cruise..LOL... I think she’s his sugar momma.LOL... NOT!

85 days until the Splendor to Hawaii.
That’s a great cruise! We were on the Carnival Miracle on our cruise 2016. Listen around on day 7 and you’ll probably hear folks saying how usually we’d be getting back to Long Beach for debarkation. LOL...

I’ve only cruised with the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Basswood and Carnival. Obviously Carnival is much more comfortable than the buoy tender I was stationed on and I’ve never had a bad cruise, just some uncomfortable people.

Our grandson will turn six on our cruise in June. We are doing anytime dining. Should we talk to the Maitre'D or the waiter about singing to him or bringing him a cupcake? He doesn't like cake - yes I know its the same thing!! haha;p
My wife’s 61 birthday our second day out Carnival Splendor. Our family and friends will be up at the steak house eating and celebrating where normally they make it a special and personal event. Good luck and Happy 6th birthday lad. That should make you a genuine pollywog. Carry on.
