  1. Hi y’all, my cruise was amazing! I ended up going to a beach in Montego Bay. Forgot the name but it was such a nice beach! Yeah it’s true, lots of “dealing”. Grand Caymans I actually ended up doing a 3.5 hour sting ray/ coral reef snorkeling. That’s was sooooooo cool. Didn’t think I’d like it, but it was amazing!

  2. Hi guys! My trip was so much fun! But regarding the $100 on board credit, it does NOT split. Went to customer service & they said it’s only available on whoever’s card it’s on in my room. Since I cruised with my huge family of 40+ of us, it was too difficult to follow around the person who did have the credit to actually use it. Not that bit of a deal, but I now know for future cruise that I go on, that on board credit doesn’t split between people into their sail & sign cards.

  3. If you know a passport is good enough then I don't understand what your question is per ID/DL? If they have a passport then they're good to go.

My question was answered within the first or second answers. I didn’t know if a person needed more than 1 form of identification.

  4. First post!

I, too, am sailing on the Breeze out of Galveston on Sunday. We'e watching the weather pretty closely. I'm watching it almost obsessively (first timer over here). I know we can sail around the storm, but it sounds like you have the same question I do: are we going to *depart* in the storm? The current forecast shows a storm basically consuming the Gulf of Mexico, bringing "rough seas" according to ABC13. And this starts on Saturday. So it will be pouring (WU says 1.27 in on Sunday) when we embark, so no poolside sailaway :( but will we even leave port if the seas are too bad? As a first time cruiser, I'm feeling pretty anxious about the 15-20 ft waves buoy weather is predicting for our route the first 2 sea days. I hope a seasoned cruiser can give some more insight as to whether we will be partying at the port or if they just head straight into those conditions as it doesn' look like there's any way to "go around" it. Would they cancel the trip? I hope we have better than they'e forecasting, tran93le!

They definitely won’t cancel the cruise because it’s not a tropical storm or hurricane. It is going to be heavy down pour & most likely no outdoor actives maybe for the first day or two. The rain seems almost gulf wide, but mainly focuses at Texas. I’m not sure how big the span of the storm is going to be when we leave. Hopefully we won’t more than one rainy day’

  5. So I was able to email the Maitre D for carnival breeze. They asked for ALL room numbers & booking numbers. Then they replied back with they’ll see what they can do. The initial email was a fast reply, but getting a reply back on our seating is taking a little longer than I expected.

Does it take them some time to figure all off it out?

  6. As seen in the title, there’s tropical development.

I leave this Sunday for a cruise from Galveston. I know it’s a little early to say, but would would happen if we’re going to sail through a storm?

Tropical disturbance has 20-percent chance of developing in Gulf of Mexico, NHC says

  7. I just looked at seeing how much the bubble package is & I didn’t know 15% gratuity is added. Let’s say I didn’t want soda the first couple of days of my 7 day cruise, can I buy the package for the rest of the cruise?

Or, if I get the package, can I ask to have the 15% gratuity taken off, & tip them on my own? I’m not sure if it’s a 15% that I can have an option to ask to be taken off or not.

    Thank you in advance.

  8. So I previously asked a question on here about & got it cleared that you’re able to use it towards anything. The question is does the credit get used before the credit card on the sail & sign card gets charged? Also, can I purchase the soda bubbles package once onboard with the credit?

Another question on that as well (lol sorry), I see that only one person in my room has the onboard credit. Is the $100 split between the people in the room, or would I have to use that persons card to be able to use the credit.

Thanks in advance guys. This forum is soooo helpful.

  9. This is what I did with my group :

Contact your PVP of carnival ask them to link all booking together.

    Each table seat 12 people.

I also email ship maitre d : ask he kindly put our table beside each other. Since it's a big group, other people that not in my group may feel uncomfortable to seat with us. I got the reply email with in a day.

Do you know how I would get the carnival breeze matre d email?

  10. My huge family (40+ of us) will be cruising soon. All tickets were bought on the exact same account at the same time, but of course with people in different rooms. Would they seat all of us together, or separately?

Also as my second question, some people got added on to the cruise later & their dining time is different from the rest of ours. What do we do about that? Do I call carnival or let the people in board know about the situation?

    Thank you in advance!

  11. So I’m that person that doesn’t care for water excursions. I like to explore & take in all the culture I can. When I look up what to do at each port, it takes me to numerous excursions, whether is water related or mini tours. Of course there is that “just walking” around at each place, but what do you guys recommend that’s a must have to see it do?

  12. Let me re-ask this question with a story instead of a simple question that I won’t get barked at for again.

As this is the first cruise for my family or 45, this will be the first cruise for most. With that, they don’t have to to google or search certain aspects of it. They have to be told, which I’m fine with as there is a lot of mini aspects to it. My auntie wanted to bring a bottle of crown, which is considered liquor, not wine, so once again, will crown be allowed on board?

  13. For the most part meclizine is much less "drowsy" inducing than dimenhydrinate. Not everyone gets sleepy from it.

I'd suggest a "trial run". Take some at home (before your trip) to see what effect it has (if any) in that direction.

As an aside - do you know you get sea sickness? There may be no reason for you to take any sea sick meds at all.

I’ve been on regular boats like a fishing boat & airplanes, never have I gotten motion sickness. But this will be my first cruise, so I wouldn’t know how a big ship will affect me

  14. In my experience individual experiences vary.

Ginger doesn't seem to have any serious side effects, although there is some evidence that it may affect blood sugar levels.

Meclizine makes me extremely drowsy, to the point of sleep. Many others report little to no drowsiness.

I would suggest a discussion with a physician that has knowledge of ones medical situation and medications.

When would you recommend taking meclizine? I take a melatonin pill as soon as I get into my bedroom then about an hour later I’m sleeping. I personally now I’m going to be “out” late on the cruise...

  15. There are three Dramamine options: original (Dimenhydrinate), Less-Drowsy (Meclizine HCI), and Non-Drowsy (Ginger).

Question about the drowsy-ness, does it make you sleep or just tired? I already take a melatonin pill to help me sleep

  16. It’s hard to know if the wristbands work when people say they use them and never had issues with seasickness. No way to know if they would have had issues without them.

I’m extremely prone to motion sickness and have used the patch and meclizine. I prefer the meclizine. OTC, doesn’t cause side effects for me, and take 1 pill twice a day. Still get a little queasy in rough seas but it’s waaaay better than without the meds.

What brand of meclizine do you use? I’m looking on amazon, and there’s a couple, but don’t know which one to choose.
