  1. That’s great - thanks both, much appreciated.

I’m impressed that you’ve actually stayed in the same stateroom that we have in a couple of weeks!

Greet to hear there’s no problems with it, and hopefully that’s the case for 7138 too.

    Many thanks

  2. Hi all

I've read somewhere on other posts that it's possible to see comments left by other cruisers on certain cabins - can anyone help me with this, or know anything about these two cabins?

I'm interested in the view - is it obstructed? - room layout and anything else that I should know?

    Many thanks

  3. Maybe they should have replaced the mattress,..

Hope OP makes a note on cabin sticky

Hi, I assume this refers to notes on actual cabins on Reflection? How do I find this as I'm on Reflection in a few weeks, cabins 7138 & 7192, and would like to see if there are any notes on these cabins.

    Thanks

  4. Excellent - thank you for confirming that.

Great idea about getting a hole punched into the card

I’m getting the lanyards out and in the case then!! :-)

    Many thanks

  5. There is also the Prehistoric Museum of Fira to consider. It is a small museum with artifacts recovered from Akortiri and other areas.

Thanks Casey2 - another great reason to stay in Fira and explore. Many thanks :)

  6. Bubbles, if the cable car lines are very long on the way down just go up to the front and tell them you have elderly relatives with you, they usually have priority access for seniors. But you have to ask :)

Hi Prish, this is an excellent tip, many thanks indeed. I must admit I was slightly worried about the queues for my elderly companions, especially how hot it is likely to be when we visit. Many thanks :)

  7. Hi Bubbles,

Fira is a great town to wander around and yes, you can easily catch at bus or taxi to take you to Oia. Just watch your timing for coming back to the ship- sometimes the lineup for the cable car can be very long.

We stayed in Fira for a few days a couple of years ago. He is my photo blog so you can get an idea of what Fira and Oia look like.http://maryandnormtravel.blogspot.com/2015/11/greece-part-3-santorini-sept-2015.html

Thanks Marysb for your comments and sharing your photos - Fira looks lovely and looking forward to our visit there. Thank you

  8. We too were intrigued enough to seek out the Rhodes Little Red Train tour. Unfortunately, as of May 2, it hadn't started running yet. Note that it runs outside the ancient wall, not inside. I understand that the best time to take it is in the morning before it gets too hot or crowded.

In case anyone didn't know already... it just looks like a train. It has wheels and runs on the road like a Disney parking tram. It doesn't run on tracks.

Excellent - hopefully it’s running by the 20th July when I’m there. Many thanks :D

  9. Many thanks Travelling2some and John Bull, much appreciated. It's good to know there's a few shops and places to wander at the top of the cable car as we're travelling with elderly relatives who may not fancy the bus to Oia.

    Many thanks

  10. I am glad that you found my post useful and it served your needs. I spent a lot of time in this section of CC last year ..... asking and learning .... and there were some helpful posts from others.

So I want to post something useful for others that might find that beneficial for them.

Yes, I echo that - Ive just booked with Antonio for our Rome tour. He gave me lots of information, was quick to respond to my questions, and was VERY reasonable priced.

Thank you so much for the recommendation, much appreciated

  11. Thanks for the great review and lovely photos.

I'm intrigued at the 'Rhodes Little Red Train tour' - was a good way to see some of the town? Did you enjoy it? It seems like an inexpensive way of getting a quick tour of the town.

    Thanks

  12. Hi everyone, we are stopping at Santorini during our cruise next month and wondered what was at Fira other than the cable car station? Are there shops, cafes, etc. to wander around for a couple of hours?

Also, can you pick up a local bus from there to take you to Oia, or is that not advisable?

    Many thanks

  13. Hi,

Last year when we were cruising out of Civitavecchia , I also did some comparison shopping for transfer to /from FCO to port and back . I also found the company that you have mentioned to be priced higher than what I wanted to pay. I hired someone else who provided excellent service at a lot lower cost.

I also have seen their advertisement for full day tours. and it is a lot lower cost than your quote. ( a large van for up to 8 people - 450 euro , from port to Rome, full day tour and back to port). 8 passengers €450 euro.

It seems to me that it is lower than what one of the companies have quoted you, and the price included RT from and back to port, so If you are going at the end of the cruise, perhaps the cost is even less.

I have no interest to recommend the company for their sake but I want fellow cruisers to spend less if they want to. Some do and some do not. I benefited from getting helpful information here.

If you are interested I can provide a link to TripAdvisor that has many comments about the company. I would write to them and ask what they offer, what is included). I and my family were very happy with their service.

That’s great, many thanks. Any help you can give is much appreciated. Thanks
