The stagecoach buses are few and far between from port on a Sunday. The 25x from Invergordon to Inverness is every 2 hours (11.28, 1.28, 3.28). They are scheduled to take about 45 minutes but they are sometimes late. In Inverness you can take a stagecoach 919 at 12pm, 2pm, 3pm or 4pm (40 mins). The both depart and arrive at the main bus station. Leaving U/C for Inverness is at 1, 2.45, 3.30, 4.45. Inverness to invergordon is 12.45, 2,45, 4.45, 6.45.
Unfortunately the times don't match up well. A taxi from port to Inverness will cost you at least £50 one way and I'm not sure how much for the rest of the distance to the castle. You might be as well booking a tour or looking into car hire.
