We stayed at Santa Chiara. Right off the bus from the airport, cross the parking lot and you're there. No bridges to maneuver. They have an elevator. Vaporetto stop right there and a supermarket by the stop for anything you may have forgotten. http://www.hotelsantachiara.it/ Old world charm for sure.

Ive booked this hotel in what they call the Annex. We don't plan on spending much time in the hotel, just have a day and half after getting off the cruise to see Venice. Do you think the Annex is okay. I believe no view but we will be out and about. If you know something about the Annex of this hotel, please advise.

Hi everyone! I'll be doing Capri & the Blue Grotto (hopefully!) in June. Question though, I'm debating what to do about my camera. I don't think bringing my good DSLR will be a good idea for Blue Grotto? If not, do I need to get a waterproof one for this port? Do they even sell disposables anymore?

What did you end up doing to protect your camera? Or phone camera? Any other tips on how you got to the Grotto, or other places?

So yes, I was trying to determine how crowded it might be when we visit some of the Greek Islsnds. Thanks to those who posted the time tables. I was able to learn that we will be in Santorini with only one other smaller ship. It will make a difference for us in determining if we need an excursion or can wing it on our own in some of the smaller places we will be visiting (Santorini, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, Argostoli and Kotor). Thanks again.

usually people do not hang around the port so you will not really notice there

I think it’s so you can judge transportation time getting out of the port. And in some small ports how busy the town might be.
