  1. Following as we will be on Island Princess in July next year for 21 days, New York - Canada - Greenland - Iceland - UK. Was looking forward to the included Casual Dining with the plus package, but now feeling a little disappointed and cheated if it is only lunch times and limited to pizza.

  2. Great review and I am so glad that Reflection is still in good shape. We will be on in about 3.5 weeks (not counting at all 🤣) and so ready for the break. A shame that Cranston will not be on board as we loved to pass the time with him in Ensemble Lounge last year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post during your cruise, really appreciate all the 'Live' and 'Semi Live' reviews.

I see it advertised on Eclipse Dec 23.  But I can’t book it.  I just booked other reservations.

And my friend said the food is spicy.  Duh.  Is it family style or can they accommodate requests for less heat?

    Hi Zitsky

Take a look at the menu posted earlier in the thread - mains are Family style, but they may be able to accommodate. Butter chicken is quite a mild dish so that would probably be OK. The Chicken Biryani and Aloo Gobi are also mild dishes with usually not too much spice.

Menu in this thread from days gone by….

“Taj X” Indian pop up dinner — exceptional!
I can’t figure out how to share the link to the thread.

    Need more coffee.

We did the Taj X dinner one cruise, I thought it was amazing! We have travelled to India a few times and often have curry/indian cuisine at home. I thought this was really authentic tasting, the lamb was so tender and the butter chicken was so good. I complemented the chef on the whole meal.

We booked the BCN airport transport service, provided by X.

They promised: we pickup your lougagge and you will it get back out of the bus at BCN airport.

Total fail. Luggage was rotating on the belt as very other luggage. We have to carry to the bus and  load into the bus by ourself.

Lesson learned: paid 30 bucks for a non existent Service.

Next time taxi or uber, cost would be less than half as we are a party of 6.....

Don't you have to claim luggage and then pass through customs? I wouldn't have thought X could do this for you.

We booked the 10 night Equinox  cruise but have been to all the ports several times before. We have the bevarge package and we might decide to stay on the ship. Has anyone done that, just enjoy the almost empty ship?

We did exactly that on one of our 'Round UK' cruises in 2021. Stayed on board and had a really relaxing time. It was all about Rest, Relaxation and not being at home after COVID lockdowns! 🙂

    Enjoy.

Many of us fret over what is or is not on the menu to our liking and do forget that when we look at the next nights menu it can be modified to our taste.

The chef's, more often than not, are willing and happy to "do it your way"... I can assure you as I modify many meals when aboard X (and at home too... LOL, to much consternation)!!!

The menus in many dining venues are not inscribed in stone and as such can be altered and modified to some degree... so ask in advance for it to be and not night of, if possible...

    bon appetit and bon voyage

Thanks Bo, but we have had issues in the past with requesting 'no sauce' or 'no pepper' on entrees. I am sure we will find something that works for us, food is not the main reason for cruising. We are more about the itinerary and overall ambiance of the ship. 😃

Here is the blu menu from tomorrow, our waiter asked to decide today for that....

I'm sorry, to be honest. I don't know today  what to eat tomorrow.....

A bit concerned that the ship is vibrating that badly, we are on the same floor in Aug. Starters all look to be salad based and not to our tastes. Entrees the same issue with sweet sauces. Looks like we may end up ordering from Main Dining menu each night.

No, you can only go within a category, C2 at C3 price.  Unless it has changed recently C1 were excluded from the 1 category upgrade as were Suites, SV and possibly some others.

I can confirm this is true. Tried to do this on our upcoming SE Asia cruise, but no dice. Have successfully had the upgrade from C3  - C2 numerous times.

  11. Hi villauk

I eventually booked with Aceventura Tours and had good communication with them. They were on time and took us to the waterfalls, Rum tasting and all around the places of interest. There was an opportunity for a beach but we declined.

Only issue was we and another couple planned to pay by credit card and the driver 'didn't have the machine', so we had to pay in East Caribbean Dollars, by withdrawing money from the bank near the port. If you do this check the exchange rates before you pay as sometimes the rates quoted are slightly higher, or plan ahead and take some ECD with you. Good tour though, we enjoyed.

Thanks. I read the guidelines and they seemed mostly the same. Hence my question.  If my DH wears a jacket on chic night, will he look out of place?

Not at all. On chic nights in the Med there are a lot that take Tux's or lounge suits. As we are flying from UK and staying in FL after our Caribbean cruise, hubby will not take either Tux or Lounge suit this year. Smart trousers and shirt, maybe a tie.

Yes, we're on it, prbffd28, Perry and Joanne. I'm not a Maine native, moved over from northern NH when my now DW and I got together and I got a job at Colby College in Waterville. She's a Mainer though 😀

We are also on the Equinox Dec 22 Holiday cruise. Looking forward to meeting you at the Sunset Bar for Sailaway! 🎄
