  1. We have been on the Sojourn many times, but now my husband has difficulty with steps. I remember that there are many steps necessary to reach the tender. Does anyone know if there is an easier way to reach the tender for the handicapped? He can mange about 5 steps, but that is all. Thanks for any information you have.

  2. My husband has difficulty with steps. Does anyone know if it is possible to reach the Explorer's tender platform without having to use steps. He is ok with a few steps, but an entire flight is hard for him. He could get in and out the tender, so that would not be a problem.

Thanks for any information you have.

  3. Thanks. I did not even know this was a handicapped room until after I booked the offer. The offer as it is shown online is not clear that the upgrade from Princess to Queen puts us in a handicapped room, and I would not have booked it if I had known that. After we booked I found out that all Q7 cabins are handicapped. I will probably just cancel this booking and rebook a regular Q6 or Q5 since I like to know what we would get.

  4. We might end up in a handicapped Q7 on the QM2 and I saw an old video that said there were no closets in the handicapped Q7, which would be a problem for us. Does anyone know if the current (new) layouts in Q7 have closets? We would rather be in a regular Q7, but it seems from the deck plans they are all handicapped. We just booked a special price for next December and this was all they had at that very nice price, which is an upgrade from Princess Grill. The next available cabin is a Q5.

  5. We are considering a 10 night Silver Spirit Caribbean cruise. Does anyone know if formal is required in the Caribbean? We like to dress up but I hate packing and transporting everything only to find out on board that formal is optional. Any help is appreciated.

  6. The inside street in Portovenere behind the seaside street is worth a walk for those that can do it. You can leave the non-walkers at a nice café by the sea, and then go up the main inside street. It goes up hill past shops and then opens up on the top of the hill to beautiful views and a small chapel. Be sure and look through the holes in the wall out to the sea on the other side. It is not a long walk but is up hill. It will take about 1/2 hour round trip.

  7. We will be on QM2 in May and there are several tender ports. My husband has some problem with steps. When we tender from the ship roughly how many steps will we use to get to the tender? Is there elevator access to the point where we exit the ship's hull?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

  8. Thanks Keith,

I am going to give us a lot of time with a flight that has over 4 hours connection time at CDG. There is another flight that would only give us 90 minutes at CDG, but that is too tight for me, since I think we will have to go through security again at CDG on our way to New York. (Our other choice is BA with about 3 hours at Heathrow.)

  9. We will be debarking the Sojourn on Saturday, September 20 in Athens. The itinerary says we dock at 7:00 am. (We are very nearby the day before.) There is a non-stop flight home at 11:20 am, but I think that is too early if there are any delays at the port. There is an Air France flight at 12:20 pm. Do you think we can make the 12:20? Would you risk the 11:20? I think it is about 90 minutes to the airport. (Since it is Saturday it might be faster.) We are going to New York, so we may need to go through extra airport security, which also adds time. I will arrange a private transfer which helps with timing.

This board has been excellent with connection advice, so I appreciate any ideas you have.
