  1. We were also on the Emerald when the CAS were there. They in no way limited things I wanted to do. Took dance classes, did arts and crafts and other than seeing them when we boarded didn't run across them again, and if I did I didn't know it.

I knew the CAS were scheduled for January 2017 but it wasn't a big problem.

We did book a cruise to Alaska a few years ago and that ship was chartered after we had signed up and that was a nightmare.

BTW the cruise line then was not Princess. Had a hard time trying to get another flight and another date for cruise on such short notice. We don't have many airlines to choose from but after lots of phone calls we finally got to take the cruise just not when we had planned.

    This is just my experience.

  2. Just for off the Star last month and we did a couple of excursions from the ship and booked Mary Lou and Ken's Tours in Hilo. One nice thing about Mary Lou she likes small groups and that being said you can go to more places and have more time at each with a small group.Hilo was the best excursion.

  3. We were on the Star in Oct and weren't flying to the east coast till the following day and so we booked Sunseekers.

We had the best time. Had lunch at Mel's diner and it was a full day's worth of sights.

We got off the ship a little earlier than we thought and I called to tell them and they came right away. At the end of the day they took us to our hotel but they will take you to the airport too.

If you are lucky enough to get Alberto you won't be disappointed. He is so knowledgeable and I would take this tour again if I ever leave from LAX.

  4. We just got back from the Star Princess and had our tour with Marylou's tour after reading all the good things written here in CC.

You will never experience a better tour. Marylou is wonderful .She asked us for our input but we left it up to her and she didn't disappoint.

We saw the black sand beach and I had never seen a mongoose and saw a whole family. We were very lucky to experience the turtles coming up onto the rocks to relax.

Since the Nat'l Park was closed we went and walked on the lava that had come down to the water. It was very strange and hard to believe all the destruction. We went into the caves too but not too far since I had no flashlight.

I highly recommend Marylou and if she is full her husband Ken does tours too.

Have found so many great tours from all the other cruisers tell us their experience.
