I'm in the category of people unlikely to sail the Epic ever again. I think the ship itself is sort of a love it or hate it proposition, and I was just not happy with most aspects. JP4GA covered all of my issues, and then some, but my biggest gripe was the room layout. Despite having done my research and knowing what to expect, it was harder to work around than I was prepared for.

The cabin layout is what will keep me from ever sailing this ship again, not just for the privacy issue but if you have rough seas like we did the doors keep slamming back and forth. Other than that we still enjoyed ourselves!

  2. You are. The billing system won't charge DSC from non-refundable OBC. That has been the rule for "always" but they updated the system to actually enforce it couple of years ago.

I guess I either never have the much OBC or I spend over the non-refundable amount! :D

  3. So we picked the $200 OBC over the drink and dinner packages as our perk. Can it be used for the Daily Service Charge?

I don't see why not. the OBC is applied to your account and the daily service charge(tips) are automatically billed to the same account. Unless I'm missing something?

  4. We enjoyed the ice bar, it was a neat experience but I can see how others think it is just a glorified meat locker. However, since we do enjoy vodka and it was so smooth:p the cost for the 2 drinks and the experience was worth it.

We also were the only 4 in there and the bar guy kept topping us off!

As far as parking, instead of paying that price we always take the NJ transit train, from Trenton it is $31pp RT and then we just take a taxi to the port once we get there. nice relaxing ride! Only negative is lugging your big suitcase up onto the train:eek:

  5. Was reading on here a recent Fun Times for Liberty someone posted and noticed the Clue game on there. I dont recall this being on my cruise last summer (maybe I missed it). I sail on Liberty in 30 days so I am assuming it will still be on there. Can someone tell me about the game and what you have to do to figure out the murderer?

    Hey babyclaytonmom,

We are on your cruise as well and DH was looking at that yesterday and thought it might be fun. We like murder mystery things and clue so we might try to catch it also. But like someone else posted here not sure we want to be tied down to attending some things we may not have also.

    But we'll see!:p

Hopefully we see you at the M&G

  6. We were recently on the Summit, and Mero Beach is a stunningly beautiful, black sand beach. As the sun gets higher in the sky, the water turns a beautiful dark, sparkling clear blue. Very different from white sand islands.

You don't need to take a tour, just take a cab there on your own, 20 pp and rent chair and umbrella. There are a few nice little places (The passionfruit colada at The Romance Cafe is my fav) to get drinks, and there are restroom facilities. We felt out of the 19 islands we've been to (braggart statement :D) Mero is firmly in our Top 10 for relaxing beach days.

underthebluemoon-thanks for the info! What a beautiful pic!
