I've tried just about everything with no success, I always just count on having swollen feet on a cruise.:D However, on our last cruise, we purchased a drink package so for the first time, I drank only bottled water instead of the ship's. First time EVER to have no problems with swelling!:)

    Sherri:)

I drank bottled water as well but I drank the ship's coffee, so I was still getting their water.

DARKCHOCOLATE- I’ll ask Kelly about how long he’s on board. I’m sure we will be back to his sing along in the Schooner Bar another night.  Beatles was last night, people weren’t really singing, but there was not a seat to be had, so he’s very popular. We don’t carry cash but at the end of the trip we’ll put “bread in the jar” 🤣

If you get a chance, please remember to ask Kelly if he will be there the week of June 16th.  Thank you!!

  3. I just got off the Breeze on Sunday. There is no taste bar on the Ocean Plaza. The doors are metal of course but they have a wooden cover on both sides to make it appear they are wood. Because of that most magnets will not work or at least the ones we had. I did see one cabin where they had used a white hook like you use on a wall without making any holes attached to their door for hanging a sign ("it's 5 o'clock somewhere").

We spent a lot of time listening to the band 6 o'clock and at times accompanied by the horn trio Funky Monkeys. They were very good. The piano player really could not sing so we did not go there. The comedian Al Katz was really good and had the audience rolling in laughter (R 18+ version of course)

The real news though was on Sunday when we arrived at the port. We had the 12:00 - 12:30 slot and arrived on time. We dropped our luggage with the porters, walked down to the end of the terminal to enter and never really stopped walking until we were on the lido deck. I could not believe how fast we were able to board. We showed them our passports and document, they made copies of the passports, kept the boarding document and sent us to the scanners with very little line. We went through the scanner line and then walked onto the ship. I was amazed as that was the easiest boarding I had ever done. Well done Carnival.

Do all R 18+ comedy shows use the F word every 10 seconds? The cruise we were on, both comedians used dropped the F bomb constantly. I don't mind it occasionally, even though I don't care for that word, but I think you can be funny without using the F word 3 or 4 times a minute.

  4. Thanks' date=' Two things that stick out...I've read a lot of reviews about lack of balcony privacy because of the promenade deck. In your experience was this an issue? My balcony is right at the stairway for the "secret" deck, but I've read other than leaving port people never go there....

The second is the aforementioned seasickness - could you feel more movement in your suite than other places on the ship?[/quote']

Lack of privacy for us wasn't an issue (below our balcony). Occasionally someone walked by, but very seldom. I might have noticed someone maybe 4 times on our cruise. One day, workers were down there working but for a short time. We were on deck 11 which is the Verandah. Deck 10 is the Lido, not the Promenade. https://www.carnival.com/cruise-ships/carnival-ecstasy.aspx

Fortunately, we never got seasick anywhere on the ship. We did feel movement in our cabin but we also felt movement in the comedy club which is at the back of the ship. We would feel movement at various times, but nothing to amount to anything for us. I do remember once feeling movement when leaving a show and going up the stairs. I laughed and told my husband, someone might accuse me of drinking, because I swayed slightly. lol

We loved the secret deck and only a handful of people were there at a time. It was so nice to go out there a look out at the ocean. We didn't know about it when leaving Charleston, but we were out there when leaving Nassau.

Please feel free to ask anything else, especially if I didn't answer your questions.

  5. No I said I preferred the MDR to the specialty restaurants. I don't consider that the lunch options are restaurants, though the Italian establishment above the Lido is.

Sea day brunch is served in the MDR. Love it.

We love Sea Day brunch too! Thank you for answering my question.

  6. The Breeze is my favorite ship.

    Stunning atrium, calm decor.

    Walk around deck 5.

Food is normal cruise food; service is outstanding.

Cove balconies, if forward of mid-ship elevators, are amazing. So close to the water, and convenient for disembarking and embarking on port days.

Cloud 9 Spa is wonderful. Just try that T-pool.

Sea day brunch menu is varied enough to eat there multiple times.

Various included-in-fare lunch options. Decent specialty restaurants, though I prefer the the MDR.

She's a beautiful ship, easy to navigate, with an outstanding crew.

Thrill Theatre a lot of fun for younger children, and inexpensive. Club O2 great for teenagers.

It feels like a ship, not a shopping mall. Views of the water from every deck.

In case I was too subtle, I love the Breeze and think she offers something for every age group.

So does this mean that on the Breeze you can eat lunch in the MDR? We were on the Ecstasy and lunch was not available in the MDR.

  7. Falmouth, Cozumel and Labadee.

The issue with bringing enough is that--we don't own that many pairs of underwear ;-) Also, we have to work around baggage restrictions. Thank you for your advice :-)

Sounds like it will be cheaper to buy more underwear, than to pay for laundry service. Have you considered using packing cubes? They are inexpensive and you really can get a lot in them, especially if you roll your clothes. I used them last month on our 1st cruise. I will be buying more for our next cruise.

I will be on the Oasis of the Seas this coming April. I am really looking forward to it.

  8. Agreed! Definitely a fantastic week! My kids said the rules just went on and on and on. Not sure why they didn't do 5 or 10 min of rules and then move on to get to know you type games. We missed the Quest and Love and Marriage unfortunately.

We absolutely loved the food! It was all hot, tasteful and varied we thought. Service was excellent for sure. Agree though, should be more 24 hours food options!

Approximately, what time does the Quest and Love & Marriage shows start? Did the timing not just work out for you or were all the seats taken, as to why you missed seeing them?

  9. We were on the same cruise! We had a wonderful time and thought the customer service was excellent. It was our first cruise! And you are right there were only brief moments when I felt like ship was moving! It was spectacular. I’m sorry that wasn’t your experience.

We just booked a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas for next spring. We have only been on one cruise and that was a Carnival cruise earlier this month. Our room steward was great and cleaned our room twice a day. He called us by name when he saw us and always asked about our day. We were very pleased.

What can you tell me about your experience with your room steward?

  10. They have 2 lines, one for burritos and one for tacos. I wanted a taco salad, so I got in the taco line. After waiting, I was told I had to go to the burrito line for a taco salad. How much sense does that make? They should have a sign stating that taco bowls are served in the burrito line. That is how it was August 2-6th on Ecstasy.

  11. My husband bought the bottom bubbles package but said he wouldn't do it again. We will just take a 12 pack with us. One night he wanted a can to take back to our room but didn't know there was a charge for that. You can only get sodas in a glass with ice. The drink was either $2.50 or $2.80, it was dark and hard to see the receipt to sign. Sometimes you can wait a long time in lines at the bar to get your sodas. We always had ice in our room from the cabin steward. My husband could walk to the ice machines where the tea and lemonade is faster than waiting in lines at time at the bars. He liked the lemonade, so it wasn't like he wouldn't have anything else to drink.

  12. We took 4 day cruise on Ecstasy recently and it was not on schedule. They added it last minute as an outdoor event could not be done due to weather. I am glad they did. Really enjoyed watching it. It was very raunchy. The CD Gary was young so that might be contributing factor.

Do you have any other shows you would recommend? We are really looking forward to our first cruise next month. Do you feel like Gary was a good cruise director?

  13. I forgot all about the banana split! Not on the adult dessert menu but you can always order one.

If Crème Brulee isn't on the menu can you order it anyway? My first cruise is next week and I am trying to learn all I can. I know it is offered, but maybe not every night. I am gluten free so this is an option for me.
