We are wrapping up the Churchill extension in two days. The days are full. It takes about a couple of hours each way in traffic to get to Chartwell, Blenheim, and Bletchley. We have theater tickets for two of the five nights. We can make the 7:30 shows but it makes for a very long day. We’ve been leaving the Strand Palace Hotel around 7:30 or 8:00am and returning around 5:00 pm. We’ve had an included sit-down lunch most days around 1:30 or 2:00. The champagne private dinner in the War Rooms the first night was fabulous. We were the only ones there. Had a fascinating lecture and tour and time to peruse the empty(!) museum before a lovely catered dinner. Highly recommend this extension if you like history and Churchill. Two days to go with no free afternoons yet. I had to forfeit tickets today to a special exhibit at a gallery thinking we had free afternoons. We tour Bletchley Park tomorrow and it will be a highlight of this trip for us. There are 28 of us on this extension.

If anyone has done the Churchill’s Britain London extension, I’m wondering how much free time there is for scheduling other activities. I read the itinerary and it looks like there might be three afternoons and one evening? Sailing in May.

We are doing A to B this month with 2 days in Amsterdam first. I know walking is easy, but has anyone used any of the transport apps, like citymapper, MyStop, or the Amsterdam specific GVB? I’m looking for opinions on which is best.

Does anyone know any long range forecasts for it to rain again? We don't go till the Christmas Markets at the end of November.
Google “long range weather forecast”

We did Athens to Venice in April 2017. Recommend the olive farm tour in Montenegro. It was fabulous. The ship's included walking tour in Dubrovnik was good and left time for lunch and more exploring. In Santorini, I HIGHLY recommend the tour the archeological site - it is amazing. We also had time to explore and have lunch in the iconic blue roofed Oia. Since we had never been to Greece, we did the pre-cruise extension in Athens. It is worth every penny. The metro is across the street from the hotel, so it is very easy to get around.

Thanks so much! You answered my question for sure. So, we’ll not be making any other plans. I don’t think we’ll even be able to make an evening show at this pace. We have really slowed in the last couple of years. And this our 8th Viking cruise. Cheers!
