I wonder what would happen if we each had a brokerage account with 100 shares or more.  Would we both get the $100 shareholder OBC?

We had 200 shares for a few years and only got 1 credit.....might be can only get one per stateroom, not sure.

Has anyone experienced what happens on B2B?  Can we bring 4 bottles each and have 2 held for the second cruise?

We have taken 4 (or 6) bottles on board both Celebrity and RCL and explained that we were b2b (or b2b2b) without a problem.

  3. we usually end up hauling our stuff to our new cabin on b2b type cruises. Staff is spotty and have heard of too many people that have gotten to their new room and their dress slacks are missing, or a top is missing. We take everything on the hangers and haul and bring the hangers from the new cabin back to the 'old' cabin. No one has never tried to stop us.

  4. Ravbo is correct. In MOST ports everyone doing a B2B meets in the morning and after other cruisers have departed you will be escorted off and go thru customs/immigration. When the ship has been "zero'd out" you will be escorted back on. You will get new seapass cards either at your B2B meeting, the group meet up in the morning or when you get off the ship.

In other ports you don't have to get off the ship. We have only encountered that twice.

In another port CBP came on board to process B2B cruisers.

If you aren't changing rooms there is nothing you have to do. If you are changing rooms leave the hanging items on their hangers and pack up everything else. They will send someone to move all your belongings to your new stateroom.  We have not had good luck with that service so we move it ourselves.

The B2B letter that they give you includes good instructions, just pay attention to that.

  5. Just over a year ago we were on a cruise that had a large group on board. A few evenings the pool area was closed so they could have their 'parties'. Not all of the large cruise group were veteran cruisers but that didn't seem to matter because a number of the D / D+ folks would go into the Diamond lounge and bring their friends in there with them during the cocktail hours. That was really frustrating.

  6. Friends have taken water on board.....they had it packed in their carry ons. They had to take each bottle out and 'shake' it to show that it was water, not soda or alcohol.

We always take on 4 bottles 2 in 'his' carry on and 2 in 'my' carry on.....we've do a LOT of b2b(2b) cruises because of the cost of air fare from MSP.

  7. Just two quick questions for anyone who has been to Labadee recently:

    - Do they still serve a free buffet on the beach at midday?

    - Are the blue mats for the water free? I just looked online at excursions and the mats are listed as a something you need to pay for. When I was there in April-2015 they were free to use.

    Thanks!

    Still do the buffet......

In all the times we have been to Labadee (most recent in December, 2016) there has always been a fee for the mats.

  8. If using a cab in FLL make sure they are using the meter. There are no flat fee fares in FLL. MIA to POM does have a flat fee fare.

I agree Uber and Lyft are much nicer and a bit cheaper than taxi in FLL.

A friend used Lyft to port......BUT Lyft driver didn't have the proper sticker on the car so they had to get out of the car and WALK from where you go thru security with their luggage to the ship.

  9. When we did the Alaska cruise tour we were at Sophie Station in Fairbanks. Decent accommodations and friendly staff. Close to a couple of places to grab a bite to eat and at the time they had a shuttle that took you 'downtown.

Don't recall the name of the place in Denali, but it was along a river. Room was nice, not huge. Easy to get shuttle to 'town' and had great food in the bar/restaurant.

In Talkeetna we were at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. HUGE room. Gorgeous views, nice restaurant.

In Anchorage we were at the Marriott. Nice hotel and centrally located.

Keep in mind the 'standards' in Alaska are probably slightly less opulent than in the 'lower 48'.....but each hotel was great and people and scenery were terrific!

    Train ride was awesome.

  10. I haven't flown out of FLL in the past 5 or 6 years. We have driven from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale the past few cruises.

We are booked in a concierge class cabin on Silhouette. We are Global Entry trusted travelers which also includes TSA Pre check. And we typically walk off with our luggage.

Is there any reason I should not book a 10:30am flight out of FLL?

Sent from my SM-G935T using Forums mobile app

If the ship docks on schedule no problem with the Global Entry. There is also a mobile app now for the Customs form which will speed things up too. If you Google "mobile customs app" there was an article in the WSJ back in June that has the links for both Apple and Android. I don't know if all terminals in FLL take the mobile customs app, but if they do you'll hear about it on the ship. Both saved time for us last month!

  11. This is our first Carnival cruise......When I check my documents on line it says that Boarding Pass won't be available until cruise paid in full. On line docs are filled out. Final payment was due 12/15, I paid in full 12/12. Charge is showing up on line when I check the credit card.

    Should I be concerned??

    Thanks

  12. We've done a number of b2b's where we added a 3rd person (nephew) for the 2nd half. The only 'glitch' that has happened about 3 times is the person boarding for the 2nd cruise we got their seapass card when we received ours. Knowing that my nephew had his cell phone on I called him and told him. He understood and he explained that to the check in people, although they didn't fully understand and went off looking for it.....and then they made him a new one.

  13. We've done a number of b2b cruises (when flying from MN we want to get as much time in the warm weather as we can). Only once did we switch cabins. There is a b2b get together where you get the scoop on what will happen.

When switching you do pack up everything, except hanging clothes and in a perfect world your 1st cruise cabin steward will take everything to your new cabin. That didn't happen with us. We ended up hauling it ourselves. Another couple said that that a pair of dress slacks 'disappeared' on the move.....did they fall off the hanger?? They don't know. But they never appeared in the new cabin.

So if we ever do b2b again and switch cabins we will pack up and relocate our bags to the closet of the new cabin (so they are out of the way of the cabin steward cleaning the cabin).
