I am not really happy about this. This is our first Princess cruise and first to Alaska. We are arriving the night before and were scheduled to be at the Captain Cook (#3 TripAdvisor) which I understand is very nice. We have been moved to Anchorage Hilton (#16).
I have called Princess and they have offered $50 onboard credit but somehow I feel this is not equal compensation.
Have any of you had this happen before? Any positive comments about the Hilton to make me feel better? :>(
Still excited about our cruise but a bit of a damper...
Thanks to all.

Love reading your report...keep it coming!:). We will be on the Island in June and we are so happy to hear good news about her.
Glad your time was awesome!!

I thought I read that Crab Shack was at lunchtime???? Maybe it depends on the ship?

So happy to hear a positive review of the Island. We are new to Princess and going to Alaska the first week of June.
I do think a trip is a lot of what you make it. It's vacation afterall and sometimes you need to just go with the flow when things are not "perfect".
We have chosen ATD and are looking forward to not always having dinner on a schedule. We will be doing some specality dining and of course that will be scheduled.
Thank you all for the helpful and happy comments!
We can't wait to see Alaska!

We just got back from the wonderful inaugural cruise of the Carnival Magic and used romeinlimo for our tour of Tuscany out of Livorno. Laura was our guide and she was absolutely wonderful!! We visited Volterra and San G. The highlight of the day, though, was her taking us to an agroturismo located close to San G. with a beautiful view of that city. It was a working farm which produced olive oil and wine. They sat us in a beautiful garden and began bringing out the feast! What a feast it was with wine flowing and wonderful personalized service by the owners. The place is a former monastery that has been converted to apartments and a B & B. We want to go and stay there. Thanks to Laura our day was the best we could have ever had!
Alaska in 27 days...they moved us out of Captain Cook Hotel!!!

I guess "cranky" was a good way to describe it....but all of you made me feel sooo much better about it!
Good location, close to train, perfectly fine rooms, drinks on Princess with our OBC--what more could we ask for?!
Duh, yes we are going on a beautiful cruise to Alaska! :D
Again, thanks for the "tude adjustment"
