Sadly there is not an option for HH drink specials similar to RFP offerings on sail away. There was a rumor that during the recent wet dock the art gallery was going to be converted to a RFP, but we were onboard 3.6.22 and it was not true. I have been on the Dream three sailings since the restart and I miss my fishbowls. My next trip out of Galveston will hopefully be back on the Vista.

    Thx ratbward.

  2. We are on a 5/7/22 cruise on the Dream. From what I'm reading there isn't a RFP on the Dream?

Is there somewhere else that has happy hour drinks on sail away day? On the Freedom and Vista we like to go to RFP when we board to take advantage of the specials.

  3. Thanks for all the input. We are trying to keep up w/ all the updates as there seems to be changes often.

No chance of an outbreak preventing the ship from docking. Those possibilities were addressed in the CSO.

Greater chance that you will be required to quarantine before returning home if you test positive.

Little chance that you can drive yourself home based on the experience of the last people on Carnival who had to quarantine. They had flown to the port, but at no point were they given the option to drive themselves home in a rent car. That tells me you are required to quarantine regardless of how you got to the port.

  4. Sorry if these have already been covered.

Me and my wife are scheduled to sail on the Vista on 8/21. While we are super excited, we are also a little worried if a huge covid breakout were to happen. Does anyone think there is any chance of ship not being allowed to dock for several days like when covid first started? I'm thinking w/ all who are vaccinated now that may not be as risky to happen.

I know the Delta variant seems  maybe spread more so than earlier covid, but there's going to be covid cases pop up all around us no matter if on a cruise, at work, at the store, etc. Maybe just wishful thinking but I really don't think the positive tests will go up substantially on ships due to number of vaccinated.

Also, does anyone know for sure if you were to test positive on the ship but drove to port, would you still have to quarantine before being allowed to leave for home. What are y'alls thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

  5. Someone recently posted drink menus from all the bars from a Carnival ship (may have been Saint Greg). I've been searching and can't locate. Would someone know where to find it, and probably very similar on all ships, but will be on Vista. TIA

  6. Assuming you were in Hilton , was your covered parking at Convention Center garage or uncovered behind San Luis .

Just clarifying for there are two convention centers in Galveston , the one next door to Hilton and the other at Moody Gardens which has a parking garage .

Staying at the Hilton, they park you in big lot behind San Luis which is uncovered.

  7. Last May we stayed the night before at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort, and included in the price was parking for the week in the parking lot behind San Luis Resort. This also included a shuttle to the cruise port and back to car after cruise. That worked out great. There are other hotels that also use the same parking lot for the week, just can't think of any right off, Holiday Inn maybe another one. Good Luck!
