  1. Adventure was (prior to COVID-19 interupptions) due to receive Royal Amplified upgrades and a marine dry dock in 2021, so there is a good chance that is a scheduled dry dock period, however there is also no cruises after that either.

The 2018 dry dock was a mostly cosmetic dry dock prior to it heading back to sailing out of New York City again, after the dry dock in 2016 was cut short by Hurricane Matthew.

  2. Highly recommend seeing Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, if you're active, a cycle rental is a great way to see it, otherwise there is bus tours (although that may be more limited as numbers are up). The carriage roads are an easy ride, and there is many great options for both low and high intensity rides, ask the guides at the rental place for recommendations, there is free shuttles up to the park. Don't forget to get a park access pass though.

The other option is a late afternoon stroll across the sand bar to Bar Island - this should be accessible from 2.30/3pm on the day you are scheduled to visit, but possibly earlier, with low tide at 4.30pm, the bigger risk is missing the ship, rather than getting stuck on the island.

    Recommended Places:

Acadia Bike & Canoe for bike rentals (or canoe tours)

Brunch options - Cafe This Way or Two Cats (if you get off early to beat the rush)

and if you're not after lobster, then Atlantic Brewing Co in Cottage Street does amazing burgers, and great beer.

(also, great lunch option in Portland is the Flatbread Company Portland Maine - a short walk from the dock, and if you're after a sweet treat in Portland, then the Duckfat Citrus Donut Holes are a must try... the caramel sauce is so good!)

  3. We had a full day in Orlando from Canaveral, got through a lot of great rides at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, if it's super busy and you have specific rides that have lines I can see this being more of a problem,  but in Mid October, it was easy. Tried to rent a car, but post hurricane, we couldn't, three of us shared an Uber/Lyft each way, plenty of time to spare for a 6.30pm all aboard, 7am arrival.

We were on the same cruise as OP and the ship

is in great condition. The only places I noticed any wear and tear were in the elevators, mostly with the day of the week “sign.”

Our cabin (category 1L) was perfect. Didn’t notice anything amiss.

The elevators on Adventure had a full overhaul last year, with the day of the week signs being the last remaining old part. Faster, with new digital level signage and indicators.

  5. The Productions shows on Adventure are the three you listed, with Invitation to Dance being performed on the first formal night of every cruise, and Jackpot and Can't Stop the Rock alternated on the second formal night of every cruise. As Adventure alternates 6 and 8 day cruises, it's possible that if you only look at 8 day cruise compasses, they will almost all have Can't Stop The Rock.

They usually only perform all three shows on cruises of more than 10 days.
