There are 88 steps. No places to rest. You will be with a tour group that goes down at the same time so you can’t stop anyway. They are not difficult unless you have mobility issues. Take a ferry to Hamilton or St. George’s then a taxi to the caves. There are always taxis coming and going as the caves are a popular attraction. Return the same way. To a ferry terminal then ferry back to the Dockyard.

How much was the Taxi from ferry terminal to the caves?

    Thank you.

    Howdy Jan

Do you pick the rental cars up right at the port?

And yes, this contact information is correct.  Received a reply in less than 10 minutes.  Thank you so very much for posting this information.

Has anyone actually been successful in renting a car at the port recently?  I tried to go through the National website, but it makes no mention of being able to rent at the port.

That is why I posted who to contact for the National Car rental at the Port.

I Found the National Car Rental in Saguenay Port Location!!

To rent a car email this address:  sarajane.talbot@gmail.com   Tell her Jan from Cruise Critic gave you her information.

We did not discuss insurance but this is what I found on their website:

"We currently do not accept insurance.  We are able to provide you with the CPT code and receipt for the COVID-19 test to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. All insurance companies vary, and you will need to reach out to them about your potential reimbursement. We are able to accept most major credit cards, debit cards and cash. In some locations we can also accept Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending accounts (FSAs). Check with your local ARCpoint Labs for payment options."

    Thank you RenRan.

Thank you, Aunt Tina ! We will be cruising out of Boston on Sept. 21, 2022 and needed somewhere to get a covid test. I call ARCpoint Labs located at 5-11 Drydock Ave., Suite 2020, Boston 02210 (617-340-2500) and spoke with a Very helpful lady (lab tech). The price is $65 pp and she said there would be No problem getting a test. We wanted to make an appointment and she advised we call back 1st of September. Thanks again, glad to have this issue resolved. Praying everything goes as planned.

Do you know if they accept insurance for payment?

After reading others talk about OnPoint we will probably use them for our upcoming September cruise.  I do have a question about using the free tests you get from the government.  Do they ask about the expiration date?  Ours will be technically expired a month before we will take the tests but I thought I read somewhere that they are still good 3 months past expiration date.  Anyone know if this is true?

Please open attachment for extension dates on the iHealth tests issued from the government.

Thanks for taking the time to do this! I'm excited to follow along!

No door decorating? That's disapointing. Is that new? I usually sail RC and we always decorate.

I was wondering the same thing.  It was fun to do and always used sticky tac so no harm to surfaces.  Helped us find our stateroom faster especially the first few days onboard.

Hard to remember as its been a few years since we sailed but is there a mailbox next to door.

Wonder if we could put a small decoration on that?

There's more than one stop - I can't even say which is closest to your ship as you could be in quite wildly different locations depending on which pier you dock at. The route I linked above isn't a static PDF, it's a live web page that offers bus tracking and maps of all stops - between that and Google maps (which integrates bus routes very well) you should be able to find your nearest stop pretty easily...

    Thank you Martincath!

Transit to Montmorency? Easy - this is the link to the relevant timetable, route 800, in English, and this is the core website for RTC to check fares (might change before your trip). It's the end of the line, so simple to not screw up where to get off. Unfortunately, Ste. Anne is another 25km up the road so there's not a public transit option I'm aware of, the Falls is as far as transit buses take you in that direction.

If you just want to see both locations, rather than get a spiel en route, rent a car for the day - French street-names might make life a smidge more complicated, but the road signs follow standard colours, shapes etc. Ignore the fact speeds and distances will be in kilometres - just match the numbers on dials inside the car to those on the signs as they're in klicks too!

Where is the bus stop to take route 800 in Old Quebec?  Thank you

  11. Anybody with experience booking rental cars near the Saguenay Port?  Tried to find information about National Car at the cruise pavilion.  Are the cars brought to the cruise location and from which National office did you book?

Or.....did anyone rent from Enterprise~ again which location is closest to the cruise port.  It is confusing because the port really isn't in Saguenay by La Baie.

Thanks for any help you can give me.  (I tried calling National toll free Canada number and they were just as confused)

you crack me up with your knowledge of the topic. I enjoy reading your responses. For me it becomes trivia knowledge because I will likely never use it . But i feel like a learn a little some thing every time. thank you for your input and my education. I can not imagine that i am the only one that feels this way, so thank you.

Exactly!!  Thank you for posting and the education!

  13. I went onto My NCL account to finish filling in Passport information but cannot get in.

New message pops up that you have to wait till 21 days prior to complete your check-in.

Anybody else have this message?  I use to fill in as much as I could prior to sailing and then put in last minute details closer to sailing date.

    THANKS!

  14. I just wanted to THANK all the Roll Call attendee's for making time and going to our Meet & Greet onboard the Jewel June 25 at Le Bistro.

We had RSVP'd for 40 guests and surprisingly 43 signed in with 5 coming later.  It is very important to continue with these events- that we actually SHOW UP so GREAT JOB Roll Call !!

I also wanted to express a huge THANK YOU to Bronx12 and her husband for setting up and conducting the Slot Pull for us.  The interest and participation was so much more than expected and was so MUCH FUN!

It was also great to see many of the SOLO travelers getting together all during our cruise.  It was wonderful to meet NSnJW, canadian bartender, hatt60ftcc, and especially Joyce Montana whom I ran into several times onboard and in our Ports.  What a great group of cruisers.

Of course none of this would be possible without NCL supporting Cruise Critic.  Thank you Jenny Galleto-Leventic : Group Service Coordinator and Steven Jacobsen:  General Manager onboard our Jewel.  I will be sending a Thank you letter to NCL Corporation as well.

WELCOME BACK EVERYBODY and hope one day in the near future we will be on another cruise together.

You might consider changing that informal M & G to a Roll Call Sail-Away party.

That M & G really seems to be more on the formal side than informal with a sort of demanding appearance.

    Just MHO.

Also tends to eliminate any confusion with the REAL M & G the following day.

    Thanks for advice don't-use-real-name!
