We left Amsterdam this morning, a couple hours earlier than normal. They said it's because the boat will go slower due to low water levels but they've not done any further adjustment as of Today.

I got this email today, for our cruise that leaves technically Monday (we stay in Amsterdam Sunday and sleep on the boat.)

Today we were advised about low water levels on the Rhine River. This summer has been much drier than in recent years and, as a result, water levels have been lower than normal for this time of the year.

In order to avoid any navigational issues with the ship as it leaves Amsterdam, on Monday, when you disembark the ship for your city tour of Amsterdam, the Queen will depart the city and will meet you in Utrecht, where you will embark and continue on your cruise towards Germany.

You will not miss any of the excursions or activities in your itinerary.

We are also cruising Amsterdam to Basel on Viking the 19-26th and am also concerned. Have contacted travel agent with no information as of yet.

we're not on Viking, but I'll be curious if you hear anything. We haven't, yet.

I've been watching this thread for a few days now. This'll be our first cruise, and I'm somewhat worried it won't be anything like what I envisioned because the boats may not be floating. We'll be headed from amsterdam-basel the 19th-26th, and I'm crossing my fingers the river will be up a couple cm by then.
