Planning on booking the Viking Lyon & Provence cruise in spring/summer 2020.  I experienced low water levels on the Danube in 2018 and understand we could experience something similar on the Rhone.  Would you suggest starting in Lyon or Avignon?  Would it make any difference?  TIA

Update on my Aug 25th Romantic Danube (Viking from Budapest). Got an email yesterday....We are in a hotel one night in Budapest, drive to Vienna, sail to Passau. We dock in Passau the remaining part of the trip. Not happy, but rather be on one place then moving ships.

On a separate note...why does this site always cause my Mac book to freeze/crash? Ok on my phone though.

When being motor coached to the next city....is the time cut short that day? Or do you drive after dinner? I leave Saturday for the Viking Romantic Danube (from Budapest) and expecting lots of buses (unfortunately). My first time on a river cruise. I wish someone would have told me August was not a good time for a river cruise. TIA

Hello. First time river cruise and first time poster here. We are set to leave on Viking on the Romantic Danube (from Budapest) on the 25th. We have purchased the travel insurance. It sounds very possible that the cruise will not end as we had planned. Would the insurance help in this case? Could we cancel?

Also, I agree with the previous post. Both Viking and our travel agent should have explained that this could be a problem and if it happens...this is the fix.

Not a fun way to go into a holiday!
