Yep.  My procrastination may have paid off.  I ignored the NCLH shareholder benefit for years, but finally jumped in last fall.  I paid around $16 a share.  It's been mostly down since then, but so what. I'll hold it as long as I cruise NCL and they continue the program.

Update: Just for fun, I just checked.  NCLH is now at $16.14, so I'm "down" $16.50 on my 100 share holding. 🤣  This is the only individual stock I've ever held, so it is a bit fun to experience the volatile roller coaster ride that individual stocks are (at a very modest price of admission😎)

I fail to see any condescension.  The poster had said something along the lines of "as shareholders, we were happy to see a full ship," implying that the effect on a large NCL stockholding would be worth having to cruise on a packed ship.  100 shares (or 200 shares) is peanuts.  I bought mine for under two large, which certainly isn't going to make or break a retirement regardless of how much NCLH soars or goes into the toilet.  At 100 shares, being a shareholder is totally irrelevant except for that free $100 OBC every cruise.

If anybody is condescending here, it is you:

Condesension: "an attitude of patronizing superiority"

I didn’t take it as condescending.

I figure I go on 8 cruises and get $800 back (which is what I paid for the 100 shares.).  After that I am free rolling.

As for the other 100 shares, I would like sell them, when the stock gets bs k up to where it was and Marc’s nice little profit…who knows, maybe it will be a nice cruise.

this thread was about them cutting out Bruce from the P+ package.  Why did they do that?  Was it because of Supply Chain or was it to cut costs?  If we want NCL to quit the “nickel and dime” tactics, then they need to get their profits up.  Full cruise ships have got to be more profitable than half filled cruise ships.  Yes, my cruise ship was at full capacity and yet, I had a wonderful cruise experience because the NCL people I had interacted with, were genuinely interested in making me a happy passenger.

Same. I'm really hoping they've sorted this out before my sailing this fall.

We just got off the 5/28 Joy sailing.  I am not a Champagne drinker, but because of this thread, I couldnt help but look for Veuve.  The only place I saw Veuve was at Le Bistro and you could get it under the P+.  I dont know what champagne was being offered, but I was on the lookout for the yellow/gold label.

As a side note, this was the first time we got the P+.  We always bought the H2O packages and I only got Starbucks a couple of times a cruise.  Thoroughly enjoyed Starbucks EVERY day, got our water, when we remembered to order it (all but 2 nights - we are big night time Water drinkers) and my husband paid for the package with his Double Enigma's on the first day.    He tried almost every scotch on the P+ list.

We had various crew members go above and beyond for us this cruise and it was nice to see a full ship, finally, being that we are Shareholders!

  3. I want to take family on a cruise when my daughter graduates high school next year.  The summer cruises are expensive, when you compare them to others that are during the school year.   I have high schoolers, so I am forced to live with it for a few more years.....  Looking at a cruise for next May 28, 2024.  When would be a good time to book? It is a 9day cruise to various parts of the caribbean.

Have you checked your credit card for a pending transaction?

Yes I  did and no pending charges.  We have only been on a few cruises and any other time I tried (which have not been many), I never got an email.  I got so excited.  Regardless, it is just the hubby and I and will enjoy the cruise as we did not bring our kids!!!!

  5. I sail on Joy this coming Sunday. 3 hours ago, I got an email seeing that my bid  from inside cabin to balcony was pending.  Considering we are 36 hours from boarding, I got excited because it is the bare minimum bid.  I have been reading on this thread, so I did a mock lookup and at first it gave a price for the Balcony, but when I clicked on it, it came back and said it was sold out,  I don’t think I am getting it after all. Bummers….

You can’t get Buffalo Trace at home?  It’s not that high end and is readily available at all liquor stores near my house.  And I’m a ways from Kentucky 😎

I live in Ohio, an hour north of Kentucky border.  As soon as Stores get Buffalo Trace, it is gone FAST.  Enjoy it, if you got it.
