  1. Just looked at V museums for Thursdays in June and it appears to be sold out for both Vatican sponsored tours (40E) and standard admissions 18E each museum tickets. Those tickets open 60 days ahead.
For the Colosseum, tickets open 30 days to the hour Rome time, so Jun 7 is available standard admission (18E) but other Thursdays are not yet available. Good luck, It wasn't so hard once you get English on the screen. FYI I tried multiple days to get underground tickets but those were always gone instantly, but I did get arena tickets with super pass for 24E each at the time I wanted.

  2. Thanks. I bought my tickets from the official website. Just FYI to those trying to get the underground tour, it is only in Italian and was only available as single tickets because the resellers buy up those 24 euro tickets and resale them for $127pp.  I did get the arena and super pass tickets without problem (also24euros) and the granddaughters go free. We'll get their tickets at the "reservation line" either inside the colosseum or the largo della office.  All the tickets are name specific and ID must be shown. The tickets show that the palatine hill entrance is available (for the hill) if you already have your tickets.

  3. Will be visiting Rome precruise and plan to take teenagers to Colosseum. I see on the website how to reserve their tickets with mine but we are required to pick up their free tickets at one of the three ticket offices. Any recommendation on how long the Line (time) might be at the various ticket offices so I can schedule of entrance. I need to stay up tonight to buy our tickets. Thanks in advance

The Domus Aurea is fabulous but be warned that it's a work in progress. Lots of scaffolding and some areas are off limits. They are currently doing a lot of work to restore and stabilize it.

I've been three times, most recently last November and I really saw a lot of progress. Some of the frescoes that have been newly cleaned and revealed are wonderful.

Did you find tours in English at the Domus?  I only saw Italian tours for June

  5. Do the safari tours from the cruise dock stop at any of the beaches toward the end of the tour, ie Brewers? And if so could we be dropped off? We want to take an island tour and have some time at the beach but our port call is 6:30-2 on Easter Sunday so not certain what would be doable.  Thanks in advance

  6. I purchased the pass on the Gem a year ago (Panama trip) and could only use it two days.  The redesign from several years ago has a smaller changing and shower area than before. Therefore when the facility is heavily used there is no space or remote privacy in changing. Before I enjoyed using the area and having a nice shower afterwards. Not convenient to do so with the redesign IMO. So in Aug I checked out the pass for the Jewel and was surprised that the 7 day was the same as my longer Panama trip. But then consider the excursion costs in Alaska. The design on the Jewel and Gem were similar so I likely won't be using that area now on the Jewel class ships. Also learned to checkout the current layout and number of loungers after refurbishment!!  Good luck to all who enjoy the area.

  7. We dId the ANC to Seward Aug 14 booked as excursion so 1st person got $50 off and second paid full excursion fare on NCL.  We checked-in at 11am at the railroad/airport terminal and received our cabin keys.  All luggage except backpack sized things were transported by truck to the cruise ship.  Each car was single level and had glass domed roof for viewing.  4 for 4 enjoyed this excursion. The train stopped at the ship and everyone went directly to the ship.

  8. Due to price drop I will receive FCC for an August cruise and I understand it will not be posted until after the cruise. I was considering purchasing another cruise while onboard to get the cabin upgrade offer. I know FCC could be used as deposit but can it be used later toward cruise payment? Also if you used a Cruise Next or Cruise First for deposit can you then use FCC later as part of cruise payment. Can you use more than one FCC (am doing B2B) toward a single cruise?  Thanks
