  1. We stayed in 5201 on the Vista last summer. The cabin was great. It does share a wall, but it is far enough away that you do not hear anything out of the norm or an annoyance. There is a door that separates the hallway and Ocean Plaza/public areas, it does help block out noise you hear in public areas.

Assuming the Horizon is set up the same...

It is a very convenient location and I would not hesitate to stay there again. We are booked again on the Vista this summer and 5201 was already booked, so we picked another cabin on the same side. If it would have been available I would have booked the cabin again. Enjoy the Horizon, the Havana area is well worth it.

The suites mentioned in the previous post are closer to the Havana pool and bar, than 5201. The bar hosts a live band in the evening, and I agree the suite would hear it more. But it was not an issue for us in 5201.

Contrary to what a lot of people comment on, there is no issue with privacy. We spent plenty of time on our lanai, with very few people walking by because of the locked gates that separate the public areas from the Havana area.:):) I know there is very little info. out there on this cabin, so I hope this helps.

  2. I leave on the Miracle in four days. Since Sunday, my booking isn't showing up. (I was really wanting to see the marker that says "Sail in 7 days") If I put my booking number in, it will appear. However, it won't save my booking (like it has for the last six months) and I have to re-enter it every time I go to the page now.

I've never had this happen before and the booking always stayed until debarkation day. Should I be concerned?

FYI I have double checked my dates and printed boarding passes so I think I'm good.

I had this happen recently as well. Carnival stated it was because I had switched sail dates. Originally I was booked on June 6 and rescheduled to August, the booking # stayed the same. So since the sail date had passed, the system thought I already cruised. They told me it was a glitch in their system and it happens all of the time. They sent the issue off to their IT Dept. and I am now able to see my upcoming cruise.

  3. Planning to book for August on the Breeze (with toddler), not many rooms available they have a few on the Lido Deck. Please do tell, how bad is the noise? Need help  If you have cruised on any of the cabins on the lido deck please tell<

    Thanks

    Nanette

We have cruised the Breeze twice, our first on Lido Deck cabin 10270, the location was great and very convenient. You do not hear noise from Lido/Pool area in the cabin however, we did hear the elevator dings day and night.

Our second cruise on the Breeze was Deck 11 (11252), this location is very good as well and for the most part quiet, but this cabin is directly in front of a closet the Cabin Stewards use for their supplies, and we were woken early every morning by the Stewards having conversations and accessing their carts, etc. Ironically, even though this cabin is behind the center elevators we never heard a ding, ever.

  4. Raices - authentic Puerto Rican food.

It's a block from the ship. Food is very good. This is the restaurant that was featured on Man vs. Food for their Chuleta Cancan.

My family sailed on the Breeze in March, 2014. Here are my thoughts.

1- Many say the steak in the main dining room is tough (is it still flat iron which then I can understand being tough) and not good?

It is still the Flat Iron Steak, it's hit and miss like everything in the MDR. No different than any other Carnival ship we have been on.

2- Do you also feel the drink pour is skimpy?

I was fine with the drinks I was served. You just have to find the right bartender. JMO

3- Many talked about the dining room service being poor is this true?

Not at all. We had YTD, and experienced different servers, had no complaints.

4- A few that tried the Steakhouse said it was disappointing, do you feel this way if so why and if not like to hear about how you feel about it?

We also ate in the Steakhouse. The steak was definitely better than the MDR. Our party enjoyed our meal here, with no complaints. The meal was good, the service was good, and the desert was good. We also ate in Cucina del Capitano, and enjoyed this meal as well.

5- Did you find the passengers to be pushy and rude (a few have stated this on other boards)?

Not at all, and we were on a spring break cruise. We experienced no lines, no waiting. Everyone was just doing their own thing and going about their own business.

6- Many stated that there wasn't a variety of items in the lunch buffet do you feel they are correct?

Not true. You have to check out both sides of the buffet. Additionally, you have the Deli, the buffet, Tandoor, Mongolian Wok, Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana, Pizza, and on the sea days you have the BBQ. If you ask me the biggest issue was deciding which option to choose.

We are considering the Breeze next year but curious to know more about her before we book.

The Breeze is now our favorite ship, so much so, we are booked for another cruise this month. We enjoyed our cruise very much, and would recommend it in a heartbeat. I am a firm believer your vacation is what you make of it, if you look for the bad in everything, you will find it.

  6. I basically just want to reach my teenage son who will be on board to check in with him via text ..do these carriers work ? Thx

I used my phone (TMobile) on the Breeze in March 2014. Yes, it does work, but sometimes/someplaces signal strength was not that great.

If you have TMobiles Simple Choice plan w/ unlimited texting, texting between TMobile devices based in the U.S. is free. Otherwise it will be .20 cents per incoming text.

I actually texted with relatives back home and had no issues.

You can find this information on their website, by location and/or ship.

  7. Hi MelsMom303,

Here's my two cents...I was on the Breeze in March, I always book balcony cabins just because of personal preference.

My only concern with the guarantee gamble would be the balcony cabins on Deck 6, they have no privacy and in the noisier areas close to the public locations...

We were in cabin 11252 and I loved, loved, loved this cabin because of its location and convenience. I would book it again in a heartbeat. If I had to choose, I would take the Lido inside cabin, just for the convenience.

  8. JustBreezing,

No worries, glad you chimed in. Good for you, you have some luck. Maybe next cruise I should hang out with you.

Yes, we did the Chukka 4X4 Safari in Jamaica and it was okay. The guide was very entertaining for my kids and that was important. They got a kick out of him. But we got to see some parts of Jamaica, which is what I wanted. From the waterfall we were at, we saw some zip liners swinging through the trees, maybe you guys???

Grand Cayman we did the Atlantis Submarine. It was a nice adventure.

Cozumel, was an adult day right at the port with some beer, chips and gucamole. Was all I needed.

I take the cruise fare for what it is. The MDR is always hit an miss, but I will say we really did not encounter any inedible food.

I am surprised about the steakhouse experience you had. Our wait team was very friendly and laughing with my husband because he had them on their toes. I think they try to hard to represent an upscale environment.

    Until our next Breeze encounters...

  9. Best thing to do on the breeze?

    Favorite place on board?

    When are elegant nights?

Best thing ever to eat of board?

    Thanks in advance :)

Just got off the Breeze 6 day this morning.

Best thing we enjoyed doing on the ship- was relaxing on the Lido Deck. But you have so many things to do, it would depend on your preference. The kids loved the sports deck and water park.

Favorite place on board- Deck 11- comfy chairs in the shade.

Elegant nights were first sea day (Monday) and Wednesday (for us Grand Cayman)

Best thing to eat on board- that is a tough one. There are so many things to eat. Guys Burgers are really good. Loved the breakfast at the cantina. DH loved the Ruben sandwiches from the deli. And both enjoyed the steaks at the steakhouse. Even the hot dogs from the deli are good.

  10. Hi everyone!

Just back from our 6 day Breeze Spring Break vacation (3/23-29/14), Western Caribbean. Our family consisted of DH, DS11, DS9, and me.

I have enjoyed reading all of the information everyone contributes here so I will give my attempt to pay it back. Everything about this vacation was perfect. There is not one thing to complain about. It was great.

Faster to the Fun: Worth every penny.

Embarkation was simple, they allowed us into the building around 10:00 a.m., a crowd had built up at the door, a representative was checking for boarding passes identified the F2F and sent us into a separate line from the general passenger crowd, which led us directly to a CBP Agent checking passports and right through security screening and off to the second floor where they check you in. Another representative directed us to a line specific for F2F (no wait) and off to an agent who gave us our S&S card and priority boarding card. No lines or wait at all.

They began boarding at approximately 11:15 a.m., there was a wedding group that boarded first and then they called all priority groups together. We were on the ship within minutes.

We headed straight to our cabin on deck 11 to drop off our carry-on luggage and not only was our cabin ready, but all of our luggage was already waiting at the door.

We headed straight to lunch to try the much anticipated Guys Burgers, and as expected they were very good.

We used Guest Services twice during the cruise and both times there were no lines or wait in the Platinum/Diamond/F2F line.

One of the ports visited was Grand Cayman, which is a tendering port. The priority tendering was not required. We were able to get to the tender boat with no wait at all.

I had made a Steakhouse reservation prior to the cruise for my husband and myself. Unexpectedly, we ran into some friends on board. We decided to make it an adults date night at the Steakhouse. I called the restaurant that afternoon, asked if we could add on two more to our reservation and was accommodated with no problem.

Debarkation for F2F, was right along with the Diamond/Platinum. We were sent a letter instructing us to meet at 7:15 am in the Sapphire Dining Room, if we wanted to participate in early debarkation. We were called soon after the self-assist passengers. And with luggage in hand, were out of Customs and outside the terminal by 7:55 a.m.

There were 1500 kids on this sailing, and everyone was having fun enjoying themselves, a great family environment. For a “Spring Break Cruise” there were no rowdy or unruly people that we observed at any time.

There are so many things to do all of the time on this ship, and my kids never wanted to attend Camp Carnival because of it. I guess they have reached the age where they are aware of what the ship had to offer and wanted to enjoy the ships features. They spent a lot of time on the Sports Deck, Water Park, and pool.

We had anytime dining, and LOVED IT. Never once waited for a table. All of the dining staff were wonderful. The food was cruise food, no complaints, it is what it is.

All of the Carnival employees we encountered were polite and courteous. Our cabin steward and assistants were wonderful. Had the room cleaned and made up twice daily. The ice was re-filled daily.

We never encountered a crowd or long lines at any point during the cruise.

My family had one of the best cruise vacations we have ever had. We enjoyed this ship very much. It is a great ship.

If anyone has any questions, I can try to answer. I also have all of the Fun Times for the 6 days and Camp Carnival (9-11 age) schedule. If anyone would like to see them I will try to figure out how to post.

  11. Our family is sailing on the Glory 2/2. My husband and I are interested in taking the Behind the Fun Tour. Does anyone know if Camp Carnival will be open for our 5 year old while we take the tour?

I have read many posts that camp closes for lunch and dinner. Also, is it $55 or $95 pp? They say the larger ships are the higher price, not sure if the Glory is considered a "large" ship.

    Any insight is very appreciated!!

We did the behind the fun tour on the Valor and had the same issue. We went to the excursions desk and asked about Camp Carnivals operating hours not coinciding with the tour time. They contacted the camp and arranged for someone to be in the camp so we could drop off our kids in the morning. No problem.
