I just spent the last hour on hold with this company-opens at 8. I tried the various selections and finally discovered that the only one that takes a message is the group selection (more money and people gets some attention I guess) so I left them a message with my pertinent information and asked them to cancel my account and I will test at CVS.

I had the same problem Wednesday, took money for two people but no calendar to schedule test. I will go somewhere else . I think that money is gone.

  2. The green tie was given to men celebrating a birthday. The scarf to the women. FYI Ruth, kissing Annie was on the cruise before the "blackout" cruise. That year the trip she was on left from Boston to Rotterdam then back to New York. When the ship got to Rotterdam all had to get off for the weekend then board again for New York. Annie died in Rotterdam. This info was told to us by Ron the security officer on " blackout" cruise. Holland America had some social event in Rotterdam. They covered hotel for continuing passengers.

Definitely check with guest services on your first cruise.  When I disembarked the Prinsendam I will swear I saw some bag tags marked for transfer to another HAL ship (NA, I think),

We are booked in Nov jumping from Volendam to Rotterdam. We will definitely check with front desk. Holland America has four ships that day. Princess and TCL each have one. Busy port day

  4. Interesting. The Rotterdam V (1959) certainly had a loyal following. The Statendam (1983) as well as the other 3 "S" class ships developed their own loyal cruisers.

Do you remember your personal feelings sailing aboard her back in 94?

I was impressed with the wrap around Crow's Nest, the mid ship pool with retractable cover, the two story dining room with ocean views.

This was my 2 nd trip. I did the 1st cruise. A 35days E u European capitals trip. I was excited to do my. 1st world cruise even though it was just a segment. I thought the ship as beautiful . I loved the cabins they were spacious. The crows nest views and the , surprise w was the escalator from in front. Of the front desk down one deck.

  5. Susan, I don't know if you're going on another cruise in the near future, but if you are check with the office, they may have not received the new metals yet. When I received the 700 day one, the ship I was on did not have any lapel pins but on my next cruise, they did. They just didn't award that many 700 day metals so the supply did not run out. I was a happy camper to receive what I wanted.

  6. Back to funny stories. On another line I was in the large ladies room after dinner. There was a line, a woman in front of me turned around and very loudly said, They should have more toilets on this ship. I looked at her and said, I have one in my cabin, in fact I believe every one else does also.

She just didn't get it. Everyone else was laughing.

  7. I did this twice and my favorite was the play at Saguenay. The whole town is in this along with horses, jeeps and firearms. The whole thing is wonderful. It takes place at an indoor theater and spans time from beginning of the ages to current time.

  8. I believe OP Divi is really asking more about the Christening cruise and festivities. In the case of Koningsdam, the Inaugural cruise was in early April and the Christening cruise just ended in Amsterdam.

There are no tentative schedules yet for the Nieuw Statendam. Since it will apparently be going into service late in the year, one of the earlier cruises may be a trans-Atlantic. Not sure that is a great idea if things are not quite up to par!

I guess I should be clearer. I did the christening, pre cruise and the inaugural cruise. This was booked as 3 separate things. Still no special dinner on board for either of those cruises. Just lots of activities for press and travel agents. Mariners and others just paid a fee. The crows nest was closed for a lot of the time. Special events for those agents and press. I enjoyed the christening. The best of all three.
