We got two payments from 3 cruises - one of $900, another of $200. No explanation. We had our TA call to find out that it was one cancellation; the $900 down payment, and the $200 change fee since we had previously moved that cruise, before the pandemic.
So we are waiting on the refund for another cruise, and have taken the FCC from the third to book a new cruise for next November, which hopefully will be a go.
So you got refunded on change fees as well. I hope we get those too since we had changed once or twice.

So we chose the refund option on our Thanksgiving Cruise out of Galveston. It was a "free" cruise and paid for our daughter. My question is the total charged to my CC was just over $1100 after my daughters portion, taxes, fees and prepaid gratuities. We noticed a credit back on our card last week but it was about half of what was charged and I couldn't figure out what was refunded.
My question is, has anyone seen this and were you able to get the full refund.

We do have Adventure booked for Feb 10th, also out of Galveston. I agree with you, starting to look like 2021 for first sailings.
We're on the Liberty over Thanksgiving, no way this is going to happen. Sucks but it is what it is.

Didn't get an email but I checked online and I had offer too. Mine was free OV room + $100 Freeplay.

I know Galveston is convenient for a lot of folks, but wonder how long they will be able to sustain the business with the same old ports? We traveled on the Liberty out of Galveston 3 times now, to those same ports. Yes, the Allure is a great ship, and we've enjoyed our cruises on her, but how long will people go JUST for the ship???
Agree 100%. We've been on 13 cruises. and 11 of them have stopped in Cozumel. Whether we sail out of Galveston, FFL, Port Carnival, we always seem to end up there.

The Ripcord staff may or may not let you go stand by, even if space is available.
Sorry meant stand by for Northstar.

This route is very disappointing. Was hoping to get a Coco Cay trip going out of Galveston.

Thanks for everyone's help. Northstar seems to be the easier one to get. Sounds like we can even go standby, but for me and my daughter, iFly is a must. Guess I've got to check daily.

As Bob said, no set time. I have been checking for our Anthem cruise in April, and they are not open yet. Based on some of the posts in roll calls, some of them opened up to book iFly and Northstar around 60 days before the cruise.
What sailing are you on in June? We are on the June 12 sailing for AK. Come join the roll call if that is your sail date.
Yes we're on this sailing.

Taking the family on AK cruise in June. Heard you needed to book IFly and Northstar before boarding. Anyone know when these open up? Can't find anything on my cruise planner.

Since I live in TX it's very convenient to cruise out of Galveston, but it's my absolute least favorite port because of the infrastructure. Getting in and out is an absolute nightmare. We like getting on early, and it will usually take an hour after getting off highway to get the few miles to the parking lot. Then wait forever to get a shuttle to the terminal. Upon return it's at least another hour wait to get the shuttle unless you walk off at the crack of dawn. Adding an additional terminal will be great, but without Galveston fixing infrastructure, this is bound to be a failure.

Jimmyjam, when is your cruise? We're on the July 17th cruise, have our friends (first time cruisers!) in a balcony 7th deck aft port-side.....i'm wondering if i should be calling someone to try and get them moved? or, if their cabin is affected it sounds like maybe RC will be calling us??
Leave on 8 July. Not sure if they're calling people in the affected areas or what. Just keeping fingers crossed we have AC.

So did you call them with concerns or did they call you? I’m assuming you were in an aft cabin since that’s where the issues seem to be.
No they called me. I don't remember exactly where we were located just that it was Deck2. We're not in the room that much so as long as we have AC, we'll be okay.

Well just got off the phone with RC customer service......due to the AC issue on the ship, we've been downgraded from Ocean View Room on deck 2 to an interior room on deck 4. This was a "free" trip through casino royale and we paid for my daughter to come, so RC has refunded most of what we paid for her and gave us a $200 on board credit. I asked why not upgrade us to a balcony or suite, and I guess they're not booking rooms with AC issues. Bummed, but at least we're still going. Just keeping fingers crossed that the new room's AC is working!!!

How's the AC on the ship. Heard it's been sketchy. We sail on Enchantment on Monday.

We leave July 8. Hope this gets fixed.

We went on Harmony out of FFL in March, and there is really only 1 line unless you paid for the "fast pass" (or whatever they call it) where you breeze through the lines. We are Diamond and had to stand in line with everyone else.
-
Today is exactly 1 year until we leave out of Barcelona and was wondering if anyone can recommend a family friendly hotel in the area.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.
I assume you are talking about Aug 17, 2019???
If so -- hope your flight times don't change in a years time.
Sorry it's actually 17 March, 2019.

If all goes well you should be fine...We've had no problems getting off HOTS quickly and early.
Express Departure starts at 6:30am...get in line early carrying/managing all your own bags.
Thank you. I didn't think so, but just wanted to get a few thoughts. Prices skyrocket after the 10AM flight (plus a connection). We've only had issues with debarkation at the Port of Galveston. The last time out of FFL it only took 30 mins or so when we did self checkout.
-
We'll be returning home to San Antonio from FLL on 17 August and have a 10AM flight. Going to do early checkout/carry own bags off, the 10AM flight shouldn't be an issue correct? We've cruised out of FFL before just not in the last 5 years. Just curious what this is early debarkation.
Anyone still booking cruises, or have we all given up?

I've gotten 3 offers the week from Casino Royale for a free cruise for 2, but most of the dates (IMO) are not realistic. There was a date for Jan 2022, that MIGHT work, but until my family get the vaccine and we see how things play out, I'm passing (and I hate that).
