We happen to be spending Christmas Day on a cruise with my family and it docks at Pan American Pier it seems. I know most things are closed and luckily we have visited Puerto Rico in past (never on a major holiday!) and am wondering how to get transport to Old Town or possibly to a place to jet ski or ATV? Does public transport run or just taxis? Are there vendors who will be waiting outside the port with some options?

Any ideas of what to do?

We travelled on Wonder of the Seas over Christmas last year and looking at the same dates for this year and it is 70% more than last year. We looked at Symphony and that is super pricy. Any chance there might be a sale that will make it cheaper that comes out later? Are there that many more people cruising? I was just a surprised and wondering if I need to shift gear for our Christmas plans.

Any thoughts?

Is there a cheap way to message each other while travelling so we can meet up for dinner, etc? On RCL they had an app where it was only for RCL purposes and  for the travelers to conenct with each other. It was cheap or free (can't remember). I don't want to buy a wifi package just to communicate. Am considering going with a large family group and with a big ship we need a way to connect.

Does anyone know how many foosball, pool tables and ping pong tables there on the ship? These are my kids go to activities and on some ships there just aren't enough! They are the activities that the grandparents can really enjoy with the grandkids.

Right now all the NCL cruises we are considering seem way pricy but they include the the drink package, wifi, speciality dining. I would prefer getting a lower rate and then just pay per drink. It's been years since I have travelled with NCL. Is that likely to return or do they always bundle the cruise fare with these extras?

PS I am trying to plan a trip with extended family, some are diabetic, etc and many kids so the wifi and drinks aren't the best options for us.
