I am travelling from the UK in February to pick up the Anthem of the Seas at Liberty cruise terminal.  We are flying into Newark the day before.

What hotel would you recommend the night before the cruise?

Our flight home doesn't leave until 18.45 from Newark, we will probably have to get off the ship by 9.00 - any ideas on what we can do until we go to the airport?  I would love to go shopping, but, with 2 suitcases not sure that is an option

Anyone else done this trip?  any tips gratefully received

Cruise is from Cape Liberty.  Does any of the shopping malls have luggage storage?  I don't care which shopping mall I go to, but, dragging around 2 suitcases will not be much fun   thank you

My question is when we dock on return we have about 8 hours to kill before our flight to the UK, not a problem as I can do some shopping, but, what can we do with our luggage?  any ideas?  thank you

do RC do their own insurance?  I cannot see a way around this unless the FCO lift the restriction

Is anyone from the UK going on the Greek Isle cruise this summer?  If so have you found any insurance that will cover you?  Until the Foreign Office lift the ban for international cruising I cannot find any insurance company who will cover me.  Or are you just taking a gamble and going anyway?  thanks

Just come back from my first RC cruise, I gambled enough to get given a certificate for a junior suite from the casino.  There are loads of cruises printed on the back, but, someone mentioned you can receive money off a cruise that is not on the list, is that off any cruise?  I was told I would get another free cruise, but, I don’t know how that works - any expert on here using casino certificates?  I was talking to someone who has been on 11 free cruises using the certificate.  I know people are going to say how much did you gamble to get it, I would gamble anyway, so switching to RC means at least I get something, the other cruise companies I got nothing eg Cunard.  Thank you

Discuss this with your family and make the decision based on their opinions.

Many families cruise with babies especially when they are going to cruise on a ship with a nursery (which you are unfortunately not) or have plenty of help from grandparents which they will.

We have cruised often as an extended family with little ones....it really isn't that hard.

I was not looking for a reason not to pay to take them, they have never been on a cruise so had no idea if it was suitable with a baby, I am not going to take the risk and will arrange something else suitable for them!  thank you everyone for your helpful comments

We are booked on the RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS next May.  I am thinking of paying for my son and his wife and their baby who will be 6 months at the time to come with us.  However, would you take a 6 month baby on a cruise?  There will be 4 adults in total to help

Do you get much choice on where you can use your voucher?    This was the problem with celebrity choice of 4 and 2 had already sailed.  I gamble a fair bit, which is all part of the holiday for me, so I think it will not too difficult to get to whatever level I need to get to (fingers crossed)

Do they still issue casino certificates?  I gamble a fair bit while on a cruise, I have a Celebrity certificate, but, it is so restricted on its use, in fact 2 of the dates had already past when the host gave me the certificate. 

I am thinking of switching to somewhere my play will be rewarded.

I received the certificate when on the the Edge last month, we have rung the telephone number and they said we can only use on the dates printed, this is not what our casino host told us.  A bit disappointed to be honest 

I have been given a Casino Certificate, there are dates on the front that it can be used against, unfortunately, I cannot make those dates.  The Casino Host said to ring the number on the back of the certificate and ask them if they can do any other dates.  Has anyone had any success using a Casino Certificate?   thank you

i gamble quite a bit on a cruise, which is the best cruise line to use to get free trips. Eg in Vegas I always get my hotel (Venetian) room free, is there any ship that would be similar. I might as well stay loyal to one brand and eventually get something out of it. Hope this makes sense

They have had a change of heart, or read this forum! We had room service one evening next time we went to restaurant for breakfast they said we are making you a curry for tonight, it seems the crew were having curry and they made one for me, I have got to say it was the nicest Cunard curry I have ever had. They can't seem to do enough for us at the moment.

I am currently on QM2 in princess grill, I asked last night could I have a curry for the following evening, done this many times in the past, however, answer was no, go and eat in corandier restaurant, I said my husband doesn't like curry, he said one eat in one restaurant the other in a different restaurant!

Also, asked for sparkling water at breakfast this was a no as well - have some still with ice!

Maybe I gave just been spoilt on past trips!
