OK, this is what you do...walk off of the ship and pick up a bus at the corner tell the driver your going downtown.  You can leave the bus at the Malacon and walk along the malacon ...go into the local markets and keep walking towards the right...on the way you can sample local liquors LOL( for free )keep walking to old town stop and watch the glass blowers ( for free) and watch the sinks and cups etc being hand painted ( for free)  keep walking toward the beach and park yourself in a chair , in the sand , under an umbrella and order a great drink or food etc...enjoy the ocean ( Bay of Bandaris) maybe if your lucky see whales breaching and dolphins playing and just enjoy yourselves without the plastic stamped Hotel .

Then walk up to the main street and take a bus back to the Marina.

    wow thanks for tips!!

Is this your first time in PVR ?  If so I would just take a bus downtown and walk to the beach....and spend time soaking up the great time you can have just walking around etc.  A day pass for a resort may take you out of town to a resort that you can find anywhere and it be the same anywhere.

If this is not your first time...I'ld suggest the same thing😃

Yes, it will be our first time so that is good to know we can just go to a public beach closer by the ship.  Thank you for the tip

Online reservations can be a little wonky. Sometimes days aren't available.

You are correct -- it is 130 days out for suites. If you can't make your reservations online, call the pre-cruise concierge and get them to make them for you. Make sure you get the name of the person helping you. The last time I spoke with someone there they were completely unhelpful (and giving me information I knew was wrong) and I wished I had written down their name.

If you are making reservations for an odd number of people (three, for instance), it is often easier to make reservations for four people and then just change things on board. You will have more time options available to you for four people.

    Thank you!!

    Josie,

I don't know specific rules regarding advance booking of specialty restaurants. If you are not able to make reservations on the NCL website then no one is able to book.  Just keep checking.

Regardless, I would not worry about it too much.    My experience with the Haven is that your concierge can get you reservations in the specialty restaurants when you are on the ship even when the restaurant is fully booked.

The whole point of getting a Haven cabin is to relax.  Enjoy the perks you get.  They will take care of you.

  5. Hello fellow cruisers.  I keep finding conflicting information regarding upcoming cruise in April.  I was told that I could start booking dining reservations 130 days out as I booked a Haven suite, which was 2 days ago.  Called the concierge # twice today and they both told me different things.  I'm just wondering if this is common?  One told me to keep checking my account regularly to see if online system will book, 2nd one told me to wait until Feb 1 to book.  When i log onto my account, looks like I am able to book a dinner for the very first night Apr. 14 and only that night.  Disclaimer:  I'm not complaining, I am just looking to see if anyone else has similar issues.  Thanks is advance for any insight!

LOL, Two Wheels! This reminds me of those Chevrolet commercials that start out "Real People, not Actors". As an actor, I want to shout hey! I'm a real people! And I'm going to buy a Toyota!

Haha!  I do consider myself somewhat "normal" on most days.  Thanks for the laugh!

  7. I am wondering if children are allowed in the Haven pool or is this adults only?  Thought I read somewhere that children aren't allowed in certain area( I know Vibe is adults only but is that it) Our cruise is during spring break leaving April 14 so I have a feeling there will be many children on this cruise.

    Anyone else cruising this week?

The Thermal Suite is only included with Spa room. There are spa balconies (B9), spa minisuites (M9), and spa Haven (H9) rooms. The spa haven room is small and not in the Haven complex (several floors below). You can pre-purchase a spa pass for ~$200 per week.

    Ok thanks for the info

Dinner reservations open at 130 days before sailing for Haven/suite guests (120 days for others).

    Your 3 children will either...

    a) eat off of the complimentary kids' menu

    b) order what they want and pay a la carte or cover charge depending on the restaurant

    c) let the parents buy a 3SDP for each of them and parent and children will have their meals covered in the same way (SDP, SDP + upcharge...depending on restaurant, or a la carte for places that don't take the SDP such as Food Republic)

    PS...

The SDP is for meals including lunch so it isn't just for dinner. You can use it for lunch in restaurants that are open for lunch that accept the SDP. However, the 3 uses is the total number of uses. If you use it for lunch on Tuesday and for dinner on Tuesday, that counts as 2 of 3 uses.

Great .  Thank you for the info

  10. Hi.  I just booked our family spring break trip for April on The Bliss in the Haven 2 room suite.  We are all so excited.  Wondering how soon can I book dinner/ entertainment reservations?  I thought I read somewhere that if you are in the Haven, you are able to book things sooner.  Also with the bonus of specialty dinner of 3 restaurants that week for just my husband & I, how does that work for our 3 children?  do they just eat off basic kids menu or how much more do we pay for them?  I know I will have more questions in the upcoming months and this is a great forum to find answers.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any advice!
