  1. We cancelled a shore excursion early last week and by the end of the week received notification of the refund. However the refund amount was incorrect, so escalated back to Princess on the weekend and received an email this morning that this has been rectified but will take 2 weeks to be received. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the refund being received.

I'm back!! Majestic Princess was incredible!! Everyone so happy to be onboard. Barely gained (waist 1/2"^). Can hardly wait until I go again in December. I'll be exactly 8 months after vaccine then + another antigen test + mask up if needed!!  And I won $0.40 in casino 🎰.  Better than losing 😁😷

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, I enjoyed the Majestic Princess when I did a 14-day cruise to New Zealand. Got my steps ups when I was on the Majestic Princess.

We've booked the Sapphire 12th July 2023 14 day round tip have transfers to sort

Our departure date from Vancouver is 26 July 2023 on the Sapphire Princess, we did look at 12 July 2023 but would be pushing my luck to get away from work. My busiest time at work will finish around 30 June but known to go a little longer.

Thanks.  How long did it take you to get from the hotel to the port?

I’m terribly sorry I wasn’t clear in my last post. We haven’t been to Vancouver before. I was more meaning that for all our cruises when needing to get to the hotel etc. we have booked the Princess transfer.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The joys of retirement and hunkering down - letting my hair grow and just pulling it back into a braid, with an occasional trim every 4 months or so.  I’ll probably cut it back to shoulder length before we cruise in the next year or two but it’s down to my waist now, so I’ll have lots of length to donate when that finally happens.

Decided to grow my hair out just before COVID and since March 2020 been working from with limited work meetings just need to pull my hair back. Haven’t seen any colleagues in person.

Bracing for the arrival of now-Hurricane Henri tomorrow.  Looks like it's due to hit NY and a good chunk of Southern New England (we live south of Boston, and have daughter living in Wareham close to the water on south-facing coast, near Buzzards Bay/Cape Cod Canal.  Our other daughter & son live in Plymouth, also on the coast. Should be an interesting Sunday for us all.

Hope everyone in Henri's path stays safe!

Hope everyone stays safe as can appreciate the concern with how wild and damaging our Tropical Cyclones can be.

We are going in 2023 southbound. Anchorage to Witter. Would you use Princess for the transfers? Second rail or coach? We have never been on Princess and I wanted some expert advice. Thanks in advance.

Hey fleeflicker, we’re booked on a 14-day round trip from Vancouver in July 2023. For us we have generally booked the transfers with Princess, the only transfer service we have used is the coach service from airport to hotel/cruise ship and back again. We just find it easier keeping everything together and already paid for but always a personal choice.

We're odd folks. Rather than booking a balcony, we love sailing Coral Princess in an aft OV cabin on Baja Deck. We use the entire aft viewing deck as our balcony. It gets a surprisingly small amount of use.

Good to know as going to be on the Coral for Papua New Guinea in January 2023 and Brisbane round trip to Hawaii visiting many destinations in September 2023.

Yep - we booked Sapphire B2B May 17, 2023 as a contingency in case next year doesn’t pan out… OR if we decide to do Alaska both years.  Late 60s and retired now so we will hope to increase cruising a tad, provided the kitty-sitter continues to be available.

Last evening about 10 minutes after I filled the bird bath, our neighbor texted over a video of the mama bear and her two cubs strolling in our yard by the birdbath.  Don’t need to go to Alaska to sight wildlife, but we do need to go for that fabulous water, eagles and the lovely cruise experience.  Also need new sweatshirts and tees that we always get portside.

Wow that would be amazing to see in your yard. Love seeing our native wildlife around us, mainly birds like kookaburras, cockatoos, galas and many more. Have a mummy and baby possum living in the tree behind us, our dog 🐶  isn’t a fan when he sees them on the fence. Don’t need to go too far from where we live to see kangaroos 🦘. Love visiting and camping in various places that we can experience the wildlife.

The Alaska 2023 cruises are posted now.  Elites can book right now, but I think others must wait a few days before they can (not sure of the timing there, but we can see the Alaska Cruises, ships and dates and plan accordingly).

Book Alaska 2023 yesterday (AEST) was nearly sold out when I booked, thankfully 😅 I’m Elite and could book.

Memoak, we ARE aligned!  I think your Hawaii cruise to break in the kitty sitter sounds way more fun than our few days in New Mexico, but any time away is good.  Are you doing the Aug 20/27 B2B on the Sapphire (now that would be spooky), or a different B2B?  Oh -  I better send a text to our kitty sitter to block out the dates!

Hopefully will see you on the same Alaska cruise.

Puppy sitters booked in and leave in for work .... well on the work leave calendar and will apply next month.

Wow!  Phil just said he’d be up for a cruise late next summer so we booked Sapphire for B2B our of Vancouver Aug 20 2022.  We have cruised both Sapphire and the Grand in the past, and decided the Sapphire might have a slight edge for Alaska cruising (since the Coral isn’t in Alaska next year… sigh).  Hopefully B2B AND Vancouver will be options then.  Would love to fly in 2 days early but if PRC tests are still required 3 days prior, not sure how that might work.  Oh well, we’re jazzed!  I’m still wondering if I should move it earlier in August, but am trying to be considerate to new kitty-sitter and avoiding travel during the hottest part of the summer since the house isn’t air conditioned. Oh it feels lovely to have a cruise on the books!  Fingers crossed.

Who knows what might be required by this cruise as we’re on the same and hoping to fly in a few days earlier. If a PCR test is required 3 days prior, this might change our plans.

  13. I happened to ask our Princes Holiday Planner this exact question this week, she said it should be released in the fall. We do have August 2022 booked but might look at a backup for 2023.

I be watching with much interest.

  14. Meant to have left on our road tip today but this thing called work well for hubby has needed us to postpone. Well at least it should be a little warmer during the nights.

We’ll head off from Brisbane head down towards the NSW boarder visiting places like Nindigully and St George travel across to Birdsville up to Mt Isa and hook it across Qld to the coast, then make our way down the coast back to Brisbane. We’ll be camping and visiting lots of places throughout outback Qld ...... can’t wait to explore and see this beautiful country we call home. Can see so much without leaving our State 😀.

We’re awaiting the 2023 Alaska itineraries and will book for us plus an extra cabin for either family or our cruising pals.  We tried to book our favorite VRBO - Big Island house for next fall, but their October is completely booked, and then prices crank up for tourist season.  Considering September, but it’s still part of the rainy season, so we’ll see.  Need a trip to anticipate!

We’re also awaiting Alaska itineraries for 2023, as there’s every chance we’ll probably postpone our Alaska 2022 cruise till 2023. Just with the uncertainty with international travel from Australia. Will make a decision once I know when the itineraries and bookings are open.

  16. Will be watching game 1 of the State of Origin tonight, Queensland vs New South Wales. Can feel the atmosphere in the air. Should be great football (rugby league).

The first game being tonight has been moved from Melbourne due to numerous cases of COVID and those being out in the community. Believe they come out of lockdown at the end of this week, however with some restrictions in place.

Tonight’s State of Origin has been moved to Townsville in North Queensland. It’s great for a regional town.

    Go Queensland!!!!
