We are scheduled for an April 16 cruise - a transpacific from Sydney to Vancouver. All ports are closed and we have international flights still scheduled. We can't even enter Australia. Called HAL and was told the cruise is still on. This is only three weeks away - not in May or June and not a word from HAL. I know they are overwhelmed but it's not that hard to send group emails to all those currently booked on that voyage. It's not going to sail and we know that  and they know it as well. The uncertainty is stressful and their March 31 deadline for us to cancel is rapidly approaching. Should they wait until after March 31 and cancel they have much better compensation but by then most will have opted for the March 31 deadline.

When I spoke with them they said the March 31st deadlin is no longer applicable you now have up until 48 hours to cancel the cruise for every cruises until end of July regardless of when you purchased it.

  2. Still Waiting for my 10,000 Points to post. They see the points are earned but are pending it has been 11 days since the charge posted. With the princess offer it took the points 8 days to post so hopefully they post soon. Anyone else have this happen with the points offers? The cash back always comes back within 2 days for me not sure why the points take so long to post.

Just used the link and it worked as well.  I bought $500 in OBC for my Dec cruise and got the following reply:

"Thank you for using your American Express® Card ending in 31002 at HOLLAND AMERICA LINE. If your purchase meets the offer terms, you will have successfully redeemed the offer."

I figured I would give this a try, as nothing to lose (I would get the unused OBC back like last time) and I will be spending most o the money anyway.  If it works, I made $100!  Thanks to the poster who provided the link.

Did you buy online the 5 of them at $100? I bought that online and never got the email and charge just posted like this. Is this how your charge showed up?

Right. The WLCL offer is valid thru 3/31/20.

I had the offer spend $500 get 10,000 points. I did the cash offer on my princess cruise for onboard credit and got them email and the cash credit right away for holland when i bought the Onboard credit online (5 $100 Onboard Credits) the charge appeared like this and i haven't got the confirmation email or the points yet. Is this how the charge appeared for everyone else? I know points offers normally take longer to post then the cash offer but it isn't even showing under the app as redeemed like the cash offer did right away.

BLAKE:  that's exactly what I did - bought $500 casino OBC.  The credits showed up immediately on my Princess account.  Then the $500 AMEX account showed the $500 debit and a $100 credit.

To answer your other question, I've done this in the past and there were casino vouchers in your cabin, which you took to the casino and they exchanged for cash.  Now I understand you load the money onto your account upon your first trip to the casino......but then I'm assuming you can cash out afterwards.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks!!!

It depends!  If the OBC is from Holland sources, you cannot do this.  If the OBC is something you bought or was given to you from your TA or a friend, then you can use in teh casino (just charge it to your room right from the machines or table games).

Thanks! What if I Have both? I will have $400 of OBC from Holland Sources. So I would have to use that for excursions real things etc would that $400 be used first? Then I could buy this $500 OBC and use it for casino option if I want? Thanks again for all your help

I do not see the logic of buying casino credit when you can just buy OBC and accomplish the same thing (plus use for alot more than casino purchases).  We are planning on using a good piece of the OBC in the casino on our next cruise, but some of it will go for drinks, specialty dining and misc. purchases.

This will be my first Holland Cruise but you can charge at the casino to your room and use the shipboard credit to cover it? This is what I did on carnival but didn't know if it works on Holland also?

WOW!!!!!  Saw this thread Friday morning, checked my AMEX "everyday" card and it was there.  Since I've already paid off the cruise, bought $500 in OBC through the Princess website..

Checked my AMEX account this morning (two days later) and the $100 credit is already posted!

    THANKS OP!

Anyone Tried Buying Casino Credit and get the credit? Thanks otherwise for sure with the new offer it works for purchasing onboard credit on the Princess Website? Will they use up the non refunable credit fist? I have $400 from my reservation and have used $260 so far on excursions or Worst case can I charge things at the casino to my shipboard account and use the onboard credit for my account? Sorry for all the questions and help. In the past with these offers I have always had a cruise balance to pay but I don't have that right now.

Yes, 5 x $100 is correct. Yes if you cancel you will get it back.  I really do not think you can double up as I believe it is one per "account" not one per each issued card but - I'll have to dig out my paper work to be certain.

  11. Anyone Know about using it to book the excursions? Under the offer details it says Excludes if not booked at time of reservation: airfare booked through cruise line, excursions, hotels, cruise Insurance, luggage valet service, Celebrations (birthdays, weddings, etc.) and MedallionClass.

There is no way to book the excursions at the time reservat
ion you can do it right after. Will it code the same and be part of the offer

I just booked shore excursions. Using today's discount. I'm crossing my fingers that it will count for the one hundred dollar statement credit. Another poster said it took about three days for the credit to show up on his account. I will be checking and will give an update.

Thanks appreciate it please keep us updated. Did you get the email right after purchase? Your purchase was over $500? What does the name show pending on your account?
