I am on the Quebec to NY cruise Oct 5-13. My travel advisor called Crystal and confirmed that the ship will be docked at the Manhattan cruise terminal on Oct 13.

We are on the same cruise and wondering the same thing.  We are trying to figure out which airport would be better to fly out of Newark or Laguardia.  Do you have a suggestion?  Thanks!

How much should I budget for an Azamara cruise?  Of course, I know how much the cruise itself costs.  But how much will I need for onboard expenses and shore excursions? My cruise will be a total of 42 days, so I want to be sure that I have enough cash in my bank account to cover charges without counting on slow, unreliable or insecure ship's internet to move money.

Well, no money needed for drinks or gratuities.  My husband and I usually give some of the crew who served us an extra tip.  You can put this on room charges, no need for cash.  You can also donate to the crew account that they use for special events for the crew.  We usually book ship excursions ahead of time and you can use a credit card for those.  Even if you book them while on the ship, you can still use a credit card.  We usually give the excursion guides tips between $10 and $20 dollars.  Anything you buy on the ship can be charged. You can do your own laundry, but dry cleaning is extra - charged to your account.  Hope this helps.

    LuAnn,

Nice to finally meet you.  Enjoyed our mahjongg time.  Maybe we'll meet up again on another cruise.  You and your husband take care.  Diane

    Good morning all

I have a couple of questions that I haven't been able find the answers to:

If a departure is set for 5pm, what time does check-in/embarkation normally start?

Is there usually a wait at Discoveries to secure a table for two at around 6pm?
(not anti social but my wife doesn't speak English as a first language, meaning group conversations can be hard to follow or leave me having to translate certain things)

    Check-in - 11 - 11:30 - cabins usually aren't ready until 1-1:30

Just got off the Quest - no problem getting a table at 6.  Most people start coming in 6:30-7.

Thank you for starting this!!  We are Celebrity loyalists but are considering Azamara.  Many fellow cruisers we've met on Celebrity have encouraged us to try Azamara for the smaller ship experience.  We are E+ on Celebrity so our status would carry over nicely.  I'm subscribing to this thread! :classic_biggrin:

Take the plunge!  The smaller ships are great!

  6. I was wondering about the status of the casino on the Quest.  Here is the response that I received today from Azamara:

"The Quest will be going into drydock at the end of this month (March 2019).  At that time, yes the casino will be removed to be updated more like the Pursuit."

I checked out the deck plans for the Pursuit.  The casino space on the Quest will be changed into a bar area that also contains the Excursion desk and the Future cruises desk.  It will be called "The Den Powered by AFAR".

    Lois,

Just so you’re prepared, be ready to bring your tape and paper tags. I’ve been on 2 Azamara cruises and have never received the sticky tags in the mail!  I too keep thinking I must have missed a checkbox somewhere!  One of those mysteries..

    Found on CC -

A link to request 'real' luggage tags will appear about six or seven weeks before your cruise on that same on-line check-in page. Just click on the link, fill in your name, address, etc., and the luggage tags will arrive in the mail in a week or so. As others said, they aren't necessary but they're easy to obtain.

We are Elite on Celebrity, but we are now looking at AZ.

    Celebrity is changing.

This thread have been very helpful and very positive. IMHO.

I agree with your comment about this thread!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with AZ.  We have sailed over 20 times with Celebrity and agree that it has changed over time.  In August we will be sailing on AZ for the fourth time and are looking forward to it.  Take the plunge!
