Thank you!  I will check around 4th of July.

I know to do this, I just never figured prices would increase.   Actually I don't think the price increased per se - they just took away what was advertised as a 30% discount.  I assumed this was a standard promotion and didn't expect it to go away.  Had they identified it as a promotional priced with an expiry date, I would have known better.

just to be fair, they don't have to tell you when promotional prices end. However, they did send out multiple emails over memorial day weekend. Also always expect prices to go up the closer to the cruise you get. There is mention of this all over the forum and facebook.

How about the  vegan food stuff  such as "cheese," meat substitute, and other manipulated things.

Read the label on some of this stuff.  Learn what "isolated pea protein" is and how it is made. Learn about "mycoprotein" (fermented slime mold). Actually learn about any of the ingredients and what they actually are and how they are made. Learn how resource draining the production of such items are.

Maybe some can claim to be vegan and only eat grains, rice, veggies, fruit , and tofu, but many don't and do eat the highly processed substitute "food."

In any case, I was just pointing out the being a vegan is a first world phenomenon. Vegetarianism is the more common eating habit and animal protein (milk, eggs, cheese) is eaten by those who can afford it.

That’s vegan junk food and a fairly western/American phenomenon. There aren’t plenty of plants to eat with out all that fake stuff.

I can see some of the crew being vegetarian depending on their backgrounds.

However, I doubt a fair portion would be vegan as vegan "food" requires technically advanced fermentation and genetic  modification procedures to produce the proteins used in the substitute quasi food items.

That type of processed food stuff probably would not be as available in some of their home countries as production is both expensive and resource wasting. The needed supplements to ensure that all nutritional requirements of omnivore humans are met are also expensive.

Huh? No it doesn’t! It’s just different grains, rice, veggies, fruits, potatoes.... and sometimes tofu

Something is VERY WRONG with this scenario. Parents should not have to be an escort for their kids for their first time entering the park if after that, their kids can enter the park by themselves. Someone please explain this policy to me.

RCCL has not thought this one through. Folks need to revolt with their wallets!!!

Great in theory but by son having an amazing vacation is more important than $60. Do I won’t revolt.

ill maybe do a couple slides in the morning and I’ll be thrilled that my kids had an amazing time

  5. This just came available for our cruise. But I can't get a response back on cost. I'm guessing $300ish for each buggy right?  I'm not sure if I should go. Its my husband and I and our 12 year old. But I think the boys will adore it but I don't want to pay another $300 for me to go. Would you just meet them at the beach?

  6. So I'm just about to purchase drink packages as they are $49 per day and I don't want them to go up. However, if they have a better sale Memorial Day weekend I will want to cancel and repurchase.  My question is....if I use my onboard credit will there be an issue getting that refunded as well so I can purchase at the new price? A

We will be in St Kitts on August 13th as well.  Contacted the Dune Buggy place and they told me they were planning a vacation.  However, had another message this morning stating that they were changing the date of their vacation and could accommodate us on the 13th.  I would suggest contacting them again if you are still interested in the Dune Buggy excursion.

Thank you!  So much!  I just contacted them. I really appreciate you letting me know. Are you on the Symphony?

Don't call me cynical but, it's about keeping you and your extra spending money virtually "on the ship" for one more day of your cruise instead of taking you to a port where you'd spend your money with the locals.

also because the only bahamas port that can hold the ship is Nassau and quite honestly...it sucks.

  9. Ok so we are St Kitts on August 13th. I originally tried to book Javin (myislandtours) and they are on vacation that day. So then I contacted the dune buggy place....also on vacation. UGH. It seems all that is left is just a basic rainforest hike or car tour (I HATE car tours). I just don't travel to spend the day in a car. I don't see the point and I get car sick.

I love to zipline but my husband almost killed me last time I made him go. He has a major panic attack...so that's out. ARGH.

All I have ever sailed on is the medium classes of ship (Freedom of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, couple of Carnival ships about the same size).  I know over time these smaller classes will be a thing of the past.  I think about how the Oasis class is 40% bigger than the Freedom class and it makes me feel uneasy a bit, almost nervous.  Have any of you had a hard time going from the convenience of the smaller ships to the HUGE ships?  I have a hard time with extreme crowds (like concerts and shopping malls during the holidays).  Do the mega ships have that extreme crowd feel?  I usually cruise during times when school is in session to avoid some of that.  What are some of your experiences and thoughts on going from a smaller ship to a mega ship?

I haven’t read the rest of the responses but... I really feel you about crowds. I hyperventilated trying to watch PitBull on NYE. I had Black Friday shopping and in general I don’t like festivals either. But I love the oasis class ships. Being bigger means people are MORE spread out. Less lines. More planes to go without people. I love it. I now feel claustrophobic on the smaller ships

  11. We are having the same issue for our upcoming symphony cruise. We had the app on the harmony last year and it was terrible. It barely worked, especially on older phones. But we are taking teenagers on the symphony and we’re planning on Wallis talkies but now I’m hearing they don’t work? There was people on the harmony that was raving so we thought they would be a good idea.

I love sailing out of Port Everglades. I was very disappointed to see that Summer 2020 has almost nothing for RC cruises. I think I read that the Port is doing some dredging next summer, I don’t know if that has anything to do with the lack of RC 2020 summer cruises.

Yes they are doing a lot of dredging. Also they struck quite a deal with Miami to build the new terminal and dredge it for the big ships so they are getting a great deal there. There used to be practically nothing out of the Miami port and now there is several.

  13. But how do you know she was under the drinking age of that country. The tour operators don’t use USA laws. They shouldn’t have too. We often travel with us family and some of the 18-20 year olds really look forward to the ports because they can actually drink... when they’ve been drinking since 14 in the uk
