  1. Many thanks for your replies. We will be departing Venice on the 21st May so a PCR Test conducted anytime on or after the 19th May seems satisfactory. As we were thinking about flying out to Venice (from the UK) on the 19th to spend a day in Venice prior to the cruise then a PCR Test conducted in the morning of the 19th would be accepted even though by the time we embark the ship the actual hours past since the test is likely to be more like 50 - 55hrs.

Some smaller cruise ships are sailing from the Fusina terminal, on the mainland just across the causeway from Venice. Check-in is still at the Marittima cruise port on Venice, and then passengers are bused over to the ship at Fusina. That 15-20 minute bus ride is definitely preferable to a 2-hour trip to Trieste (or possibly Ravenna) . I agree that it's necessary to check with Seabourn to find out where each cruise will actually be departing from.

We just booked a cruise and have paid only our initial deposit, but I can access the FlightEase part of the Seabourn site to book air.

ok many thanks for the information

Seabourn now uses the same online booking engine as Princess and HAL.  Once you have booked a cruise you can access this site and choose from many flight options.  You can also call SB and their folks will assist you in booking from a large list of options.  Their system does allow you to choose airports and dates.

Many thanks for that information Hank.

  4. Many thanks everyone for the replies. We expect to arrive in Venice and spend a couple of nights before the cruise. Never been before so it would be silly not too.

Another question, with regards the flight inclusive offer from Seabourn, will they allow people to fly to Venice at a time and from an airport of their choice?

  5. Hi

Thanks everybody - it is the Greek Odyssey cruise (so many thanks Ovener - a great insight!) we are on and very much looking forward to it as it is also our very first cruise. We will be complete babies hopefully alongside some experienced    cruisers.

We have already booked our own flights to/from Athens as we live miles (West Cornwall) from any airport that offers a direct flight on appropriate dates and times. We didn't want to have to transfer to a hub then onto Athens so have gone with Aegean from Heathrow.

  6. Hi,

We are looking forward to our first cruise on Seabourn which will be the Greek Islands in July 2019. Has anyone got recommendations in terms of taking up any of the organised excursions? My wife and I are pretty fit and active and happy to do our own thing but at the same time don't want to miss out on any highlights.
