  1. I was pretty much decided on an 8 night cruise on Reflection with ports of Grand Cayman, Aruba, & Curacao. Then I saw we could do an oceanview cabin on the Beyond for the same price & essentially the same itinerary. This will be our first Celebrity cruise. We have always cruised with RCCL and I’m a little hesitant to do an oceanview since we love our balcony cabins but the Beyond looks beautiful. Any advice on which to choose?

  2. Just back from Allure & having PCD so now looking to book southern Caribbean on Adventure for Sept or Oct 2015. Are these itineraries exhausting with so many ports? One of the itineraries does Aruba & Curacao with an additional sea day. Any thoughts from those of you that have done this would be appreciated. Per person cost for a balcony isn't so great but with our balcony discount & BOGO it's a great price. Took the adult kids on Allure but I think this one will be just DH & I.

  3. I am taking my first southern cruise and cant decide on hump or aft. I currently have a center hump on deck7 but want to move to a JS.

I have cruised in 1394 and loved it but wonder if a southern would better experienced in a hump. If hump, does side matter?

My itinerary is ... St Thomas, St Croix, Anitgua, St Lucia, Grenada.

    Any advice?

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking hump on deck 8 but whichever, I'm on a cruise! The itinerary scares me a little bit with so many ports. I love a sea day but I guess we can balance it with tours & relaxing beach days.

  4. We changed them around a few times on board & had no problem. Even booked Giovanni's at 5 pm for a 7:30 ressie. They seemed to have a lot of availability all week. My tv showed no times for a same day ressie but when I phoned restaurant directly, they said, "what time would you like?"

  5. Royalcruz, I just wanted to thank you for all your help in planning the Ft Lauderdale part of our cruise. Hyatt Place worked out great, Duffys for some afternoon snacks and finally a great dinner at Sweet Nectar on Las Olas and of course Total Wine.

Finally thanks for the tip about not taking hotel shuttle to port. I had arranged a taxi the night before through the "taxi app" on my iPad. Walked outside in the morning after I got a text that my taxi was on the way. The shuttle was sitting there and the driver asked if I was going to the port? I said I was but I had arranged a taxi. He told me that wasn't necessary. I said, "thanks, but I'm good" taxi arrived, we loaded up & 5-10 min later & $8.30 (+$5tip) we were at the port. I'm sure the shuttle was still sitting at the hotel waiting to fill up. I was telling the taxi driver my story & he just shook his head bc it was so much cheaper to take a taxi.

  6. Room

My wife and I got a D4 balcony on the starboard side room #7672 sandwiched on the deck between the Boardwalk and Central Park. I kind of wish I picked a room on the port side instead but we're still really excited for our room. Part of our philosophy in choosing a room on deck 7 was the fact that we were unsure of how easy Allure would be to get around. This deck allows us to be close to the Boardwalk, Central Park, the Promenade, and of course the casino!!

We just got off yesterday. Stayed in room 7676. Loved the location. A little far to the pool deck but great for Central Park, Boardwalk, & Promenade. Have a great time.

  7. Good morning- we are just off the Allure- WOW. WOW. WOW, will be traveling home most of the day:( Will be back with thoughts. HUGE thanks to all who answered my questions. Be glad to try to answer yours. Just one funny thing before i step away- when leaving the ship walked past the area where folks claim their items i.e. irons, etc. Saw a George Forman grill!!! Wonder what they left at home to make space in luggage for it:). Be back later.

Haha! I saw it too & even said to my daughter, "is that a panini press?"

It was a wonderful week...glad we finally got some sunshine!

  8. Sweet Nectar is a few blocks away from the water taxi stop. If you wear comfortable shoes, nothing seems far on that main stretch of the blvd. If you take the Suntrolley, you will hve to get off somewhere near Las Olas Blvd on A1A and take a second Suntrolley downtown. I'm sure the driver will help you. I think they stop wherever you want as long as it is safe. Don't expect them to know where every restaurant is though...having the address will help.

Thanks Royalcruz. A few blocks is very doable! It looked much longer on the map. Where is the best place to get on & off the water taxi?

  9. We are planning on exploring Las Olas on our arrival day. Royalcruz & BlueHerons have already given me great suggestions as to where to eat but I was wondering if we take the water taxi how far is Sweet Nectar? I was just planning on walking along the blvd but when I look at google maps, it looks pretty far. We are staying at Hyatt Place so we may just catch the sun trolley but not sure where it will drop us off.

  10. many cruises under my belt, and wanted to do something different besides the beach or snorkeling, those are great, but, wanted something new for a cruise I was on this past December. I found a cooking excursion that was coordinated by a local chef. "Cooking with Josefina". There was about 11 total (max) in the group. Got to Josefina's house, went shopping at a local market for the ingredients then went back to her house to prepare a wonderful, authentic Mexican lunch, along with freshly squeezed limes for margaritas. I'd highly recommend this and would not hesitate to book it again; all in my group said the same. Cheers!

We have this booked for our upcoming cruise in May. Always glad to hear good reviews.

  11. Looks like balcony prices have come down enough I may be able to move my kids from BB on deck 9 to an ocean view balcony. Of course I will probably try to move us as well (D8 deck 7) so we are on the same deck. Lots avail on deck 6. Wondering how the view is with life boats underneath? Also how about deck 8, midship a few cabins behind the 1st hump? Last choice is pretty far aft on deck 10 & 11? Thanks for the input.
