I've cruised from Baltimore six times and it never looks like the ship is going to clear the Key Bridge

I’m booked to sail out of Baltimore in February 2022. What is it like for sail

away weather-wise? I’m not sure what to expect or for how long we will

    have cold weather onboard.

Thanks. I did'nt know about notification. I'm not great with computer stuff. 😀

I meant for me. I forgot to click on the question I asked about the program including milkshakes and specialty coffees, which I thought were excluded. LOL.

Judging solely by the fact that you aren't huge drinkers, I would say Cheers would probably not be worth it. It would cost you about $840 for the week. Most drinks can be had for $6-$10 on the ship. It depends what your preferences and interests are.

However, here comes a bunch of people to tell you that you need Cheers, and you forgot how much you like milkshakes and specialty coffee.

So, milkshakes and specialty coffees are included in the Cheers package? I was thinking they were not. Along with wine slushies.

  4. Do you think this changes for holiday cruises? We're sailing Dec. 23rd -28th. Is it possible elegant night would be on Christmas Eve or Christmas? I know not everyone celebrates, but quite a few do. Ports of call are Ocho Rios on the 25th and Grand Cayman the 26th.

It's been a couple of years since I cruised but yeesh! I get the liquor being outrageously priced but now a delivery fee on top of it? AND, you have to agree to ONLY DRINK IN CABIN? I'm no lush but I do enjoy taking a flask with liquor to the pool with a mixer or making a drink in the cabin to take to pool. Does anyone know how tough they are on enforcing this rule?

I'm confused. I thought you could buy liquor on the ship, duty free, but couldn't have it until debarkation day, which I also don't understand...

Curious if anyone has heard when the excursions will open for Carnival Sunrise.  I just check each morning hoping to snag FTTF.

Our sailing is in FEB 2020 so has the process changed where excursions aren't available at time of booking?  We haven't cruised with Carnival since July 2017.

    Thanks.

We're booked on Sunrise Dec. 2019 and the excursions are there. Haven't seen FTTF option yet, but I'm fairly new to all of this.

  7. My family will be cruising the new “Sunrise” Dec. 23rd - 28th, 2019. We are considering reservations at Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse (my mom loves lobster tail) for either Christmas Eve or Dec. 27th. However, I’ve been reading that dining takes from 2- 2 1/2 hours. We leave the 23rd, and are in port at Ocho Rios on Christmas Day and Grand Cayman on the 26th, so I don’t think those nights will work. I’m afraid of missing Christmas programs or activities during  dinner on Christmas Eve and the 27th is our last night on the ship. Any thoughts on which night to reserve?

Lol, and I'm happy that they do, so I don't have to wait for the casino cashier to punch it like we used to in years past.  I save my sail & sign cards.  I usually take a different cruise line card for the light switch so I don't have to take off my lanyard.  They also are handy for those ships that use magnetic strips for the safes.  Easier to tell quickly which is the door vs. safe key.

Will any plastic gift card work in the light switches?

#3. Use post-it notes and the complimentary shipboard voice mail service.

So, how does the complimentary shipboard voice mail service work? I ought cell phones wouldn't work out at sea. Are there phones around where you can call to listen to a message? I ask as my daughter, son, and eighty nine year old mom will be in different places than I will be, and I've wondered how to save steps as opposed to going to the room all the time.

  10. I've read several past cruisers' references to main dining room waits, debacles, etc. One poster mentioned that if you know where your table is and have an assigned dining time, you just bypass the line and walk right to your table. Is this true? Also, sailing from Dec. 23rd thru 28th on Carnival Sunrise. My 89 year old mom wants lobster tail (her favorite). I've read that dining isn't what it used to be and have thought about making reservations at the special steakhouse, which reads (expect 2 1/2 hours for experience). So, should I book the first night (23rd), Christmas Eve or the 27th? I don't want to miss any special Christmas events that might be happening, I don't know how long muster will take on the first night, and we are in port Christmas Day and the day after. Suggestions?

  11. I haven’t been on a cruise in 12 years and even then it was as a class advisor for a high school senior trip. My family is booked on Carnival Sunrise Dec23rd-28th, 2019. I’ve tried to find MDR menus and information about holiday cruise itineraries on board, to no avail. Can anyone give me some ideas as to the decorations, special meals, shows, etc. that might make the trip feel like Christmas away from home? Also, we are bringing my 87 (will be 88) year old mom with us. She has a walker. Is this an issue? Are there ways to get a wheelchair or something for getting her on/off the shop and to the beach or other excursion tours? She has trouble walking long distances. I’d really appreciate any insight. Thanks!
