I am travelling from the UK, sailing on the Reflection on 05 Feb.  As you can use any CDC approved Antigen test with video call, I am using the same provider that we will use pre flight to Miami (we are spending 3 days in Miami before the cruise).  Although, Celebrity advise of their preferred suppliers, you can use any CDC approved supplier - therefore if it is good enough for our flights into the USA, it will be good enough for the cruise!  Means I can get them delivered to my address in the UK to take with me and arrange the video call in advance and not have the worry or expense of the port testing.  I'm using Qured - which I have now used several times for travel to the US with no issues. https://www.qured.com/fit-to-fly-usa

Thanks for this helpful info.  Will do the same. We also have 3 nights in Miami prior to our sailing date of  25 Feb.  Actually looking for a decent hotel (sailing out of Fort Lauderdale).  The current Miami one that’s part of our package has some horrible reviews on Tripadvisor.  Any pointers? Thanks!

  2. From the UK and looking for help.  We have 3 nights in Miami before we board Silhouette on 25 February. Celebrity have sent me a link to register with the port side provider but I can’t do this as I live outside the US.  I’ve sent an email to ask how I get round this but no response so far.  Really worried about arriving in the US and not being able to get tested before embarkation.  Any advice on tests I can buy in the UK and take with me would be much appreciated.

  3. Thanks very much - really helpful.  Still a bit stuck as lots of posts on Tripadvisor saying South Beach, Ocean Drive etc very unsafe at night so not sure there’s much point going there as we only have a few hours daytime and the evening to explore so may just head to FLL and chill around the hotel instead.  Dilemmas dilemmas - have got some time so will keep browsing the forums meanwhile.  We haven’t even got to part 2 of our holiday - what to do for the week post cruise!

    Welcome to the boards! :classic_biggrin:

Taxi from MIA to South Beach will run about $35-40, or you can Uber for about $25+. To get from SB to Port Everglades for your cruise an Uber will run about $35 or a taxi will run about $70

Your other option is to keep your original hotel. Uber from MIA airport will run about $35+ or taxi for about $70+

If any of this helped you owe me a pint!  Whatever bitter you local pours will be fine. 😎

Haha thank you - a pint of Old Speckled Hen is waiting for you at the Frog & Toad next time you visit Kent

  5. Looking for some advice please.  We cruise from Fort Lauderdale on 24 Aug and our flight from the UK on the 23rd has now been diverted to Miami.  We already have a hotel in FL booked but are now wondering whether to change this to Miami’s South Beach area and use the opportunity to see a bit of this area before we cruise. Is this a viable option - how long/how much would a transfer be the following morning?  Thanks  in advance
