  1. We had a tour with Red Sun Tours.
My wife had a hip replacement and we elected to go on a private tour to do sightseeing at our own pace.

We were very happy with the tour, enjoyed every minute. Our guide had so great knowledge. We were really impressed.

Our driver was very kind and accommodating.
It was like to meet friends.

We plan to visit St. Petersburg again in near future.

Hello all, my me, my wife and another couple will be taking a Baltic cruise on Brilliance of the sea in May. My wife has some balance issues and feels more comfortable using a walker when on tours. Does anyone have any recommendations on St. Petersburg tour companies who can accommodate a walking challenged person.  Thank you.

We were very happy with the tour. Our guide and driver were very kind and accommodating.  At the Hermitage we even took a wheelchair which was helpful. In Peterhof we traveled by a buggy and could see the entire garden.
On their website I saw one of the tours is an accessible tour for walking challenged people.

Don't feel like you have to pick from the companies that are recommended here the most frequently. It seems some companies pay for these recommendations in the form of discounts, so there will always be a bias toward those.

    I agree.

After some research we booked a 2 Day tour of St. Petersburg with Red Sun Tours. It was fantastic! The tour was tailored for us and we had really unique experience. I was surprised even by the personal touch and wonderful stories of our great guide.

We booked a tour with the same company for our 2 days in St. Petersburg.  we are very much looking forward to our long waited visit to St. Petersburg. Can hardly wait

    Hi,

We will be in port in July and as neither my husband or I are big palace people I have been looking at the "Off the beaten path tours"  I would be interested in what others thought of these tours? I realize that these will have to be private tours.

Hi. We also wanted to book a tour what includes some places of “off the beaten path”. We finally booked with Red Sun Tours. It was the best offer and they are very helpful.  We included a tour to Kronstadt and Erarta museum of the Contemporary Art.

We visited St. Petersburg last year, and still our memories are fresh. That city is great and 2 days is not enough to see all treasures. We didn't want to book a regular tour with an average tour company just to cover everything. We wanted just to taste and may be understand that country and people who live there.  We went to ( and I would recommend)  visit Peterhof gardens - just terrific, Hermitage museum , Spilled Blood church - they are really highlights. If you take a city tour and have a subway ride, dine with a Russian family and go to a regular market like we did , you will see how they live and work.  it was an unusual tour, personal, sincere and very significant for us. it will be ever-lasting memory. We booked that tour with Red sun tours and i am very confident in recommendation of them.

btw they provided us with blanket visas, so we could easily get off the ship

Thank you for this review. It helped me to make a decision. We have just booked a 2 day tour in St. Petersburg with Red Sun Tours.

Hi. We did the tour of that town by our own. The port is not far from the city center. We went up to the old town and got in the main cathedral, visited their art gallery, took pictures from the high point. Then took a regular bus and went to the beach. Had a dinner by the beach at the fish restaurant, relaxed on the beach and went back to the ship.

    It was a nice day!
