  1. Honestly this seems to be the most buggy, convoluted, error-prone reservation system I've ever seen.

Been trying to make reservations for the 3 of us (in 2 cabins) since 6:30pm tonight (i.e. for 5 hrs straight, without stopping).

Error after error after error, with Royal's standard apologetic error msg when the website times out. Or sometimes, "Items in your cart are no longer available" (even when there are zero reservations in my cart). Or "That reservation cannot be found" (when trying to add the guests I'm traveling with...some days it finds them, some days they don't exist.)

I feel like I made a huge mistake choosing Allure.

We will be on the Oasis in January and we also had a hard time, so I ended up calling them and got it all straight.

  2. We went with my sister and brother in law on the Dream and they had an inside room. It was very small, but they managed pretty good. The only thing I can recommend is to be sure to bring a night light. It was VERY dark in their room with the door closed and no light on. It was really crowded with two in the room, but I would keep checking the prices and if it goes down, then I would get a room with a window or balcony. To us, a balcony is the only way to go. We spend a lot of time out of our room, but we also enjoy going back to our room and sitting out on the balcony. In the morning it is really nice.

  3. mosquito's usually will hunt me down:( so I usually use the Off repellent that hooks onto my clothes and it has worked great here at home, which is South Georgia, USA, We will be going to Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel in January 2015 on the Oasis. Would it work, do you think as good?

I am like most of the CC's on here, it is something we all need to be careful about.

  4. We were just there and had a great time rafting down the Martha Brae. No work was required, we just sat back and left the rafting to our captain. He provided us with a lot of info as we rolled along, serenaded us, and told interesting stories. The ride to the staging area wasn't long. Afterwards, we went for lunch which was included in the price of the ship sponsored excursion. A very nice day, with time left to shop/stroll in the enclosed area.
We have also done this and it is a lot of fun.
  5. Jamaika/Bamboo Rafting on the Martha Brae - FYB5:

I guess the boat can also accommodate 3 guests ? The online photos show only 2 guests...

We went on this and the seat was pretty big, you could probably get three people on one, the seat goes all the way across the raft. It would be more comfortable with 2, where with 3 you would be more crowded. You have to climb down a long path to the river then climb onto the raft while they are holding it still. Our guide was "Derrick" and he was great!. We did not get to do the whole ride, because the river was too high from rains, but it still was worth it. You will have a great time. We really enjoyed it.

They furnish life jackets that you must wear. Be sure to take your camera, there is plenty to take pictures of.

  6. Thanks for answering.

Flamuro, We will make a reservation for at least one of them, then. Thanks for your imput on the question.

Clarea, Thanks for letting us know. That way we will just make a reservation for one and leave the rest of the time for the other shows:)

  7. We will be sailing on the oasis and want to know about the Comedy Shows. Are they different each night? also how "Adult" are they? We do not care for the really bad ones, we don't mind if the jokes are off color, just not really bad. We have read that we need to made reservations for what we want to see and would like to go to the Comedy shows, if they are different each time. I have read on CC that they are all the same, so you only need to go to one unless you want to watch the same show each time. We also plan on going to a lot of the other shows also.

    Thanks

  8. I agree with the above. Quiet location, less ship movement, great views, and if you're in an area with a lot of suites you will likely get a more experienced stateroom attendant.

EDIT: ...I'll go ahead and post the pic yet again :) If you can snag 1400 or 1700 on a Freedom Class Ship, this is your morning coffee view...

I was in the Navy on an aircraft carrier and aft IS NOT better

  9. We were on the Legend in December 2011 and we thought that it was a great cruise. We also liked the parking there. No hassle to get a spot and just a block or so from the ship.

    We would recommend it.

We also looked at the pictures that has been put on and really enjoyed them

  10. We have been on Carnival several times, will be on the Breeze in January. The scrambled eggs are ok if you put them in grits, that is the way I like them anyway. If you go on a ship, you should know that the scrambled eggs are not "real" eggs anyway. You can get your eggs anyway you want them, so you did not have to eat the scrambled eggs. We have never had a problem with the food on Carnival, if we do not like what the menu looks like for the evening, we just go to the buffet. My DH, when he was in the Navy, eat powdered eggs all the time, even though he could get "real" eggs a lot of times.

  11. I am also very glad to hear about the fresh water pools on the FOS. We sailed on the Princess Coral Dec. 07 and really enjoyed the fresh water pools. The JOS and NOS had salt water pools when we were on them. Maybe RCCL will change all of the pools to fresh water, would be a great improvement, at least to us.:D

Would you mind telling us what kind of camera you use? Your pictures are really good.

Cuizer2 told me that she uses a Cannon A620. and her pictures are also really good,

We are going to get a new camera for our cruise on the FOS in December 08 and have looked at different ones.

The Cannon and one by Sony.

    thanks

  13. Just remember, when "stitching" together several pictures, it is the software, and not the camera that matters. One of the reasons I use the MicroSoft product over the better known Adobe Photoshop Elements is, that in my opinion, the MicroSoft product does a better job.

Also, you will get better results if you use a tripod (which I don't use)

My daughter has PSP that she can do wonders with. I also like the Microsoft Product better, to me it is easier to use.
