Everyone else is savvy to this so the non-connecting cabins will go first.  I call often and sometimes change cabins 3 or 4 times over a year.    The call is free, that is what they are there for.  It it isn't that important so be it, but if it is I wouldn't wait to deal with it, you'll likely be disappointed.

Yes I'm definitely not in the savvy group yet lol.  I'll call them this week for sure. Now if I could only get a guarantee that my mom will behave, hmmmm.

14701 looks to be a connecting room.  I don't like connecting rooms because you can often hear your neighbors talking.  Sometimes if they are loud talkers you can hear complete sentences, sometimes you know they are talking but can't make out what they are saying.

Other than that it's below the sport court so you are not not likely to hear deck chairs.

Oh yes I'm not too crazy about a connecting room. I hate the thought of calling RC CS to switch rooms. I have over a year so maybe I'll try it on our final cruise this year if NC will do it.

  3. Very noob cruiser here, only sailed Anthem twice. I booked on Oasis for next summer when she is in Bayonne.  It will be myself, 10 year old DS and my mother (uses a walker).  DS wanted the 14th floor and we got an aft room not far from the rear elevators, Boardwalk balcony. IIRC it's 14701.

I got the 2 soda packages and $175 OBC as well as discounted pricing on my son and mom's fares. Can a TA do better? Possible to switch to OV balcony without a huge cost increase? Is Deck 14 okay on aft? We don't need absolute quiet but reasonable is ok! I'm the light sleeper so deck chairs being pulled around in early am would be awful. We've been lucky enough to twice get great decks/rooms on Anthem. I would love a similar  experience on my first Oasis sailing. Thanks!

FYI - Anthem has some of the smallest differences in pricing between inside and balconies compared to other ships.

Yes I made sure I was paying less than I would have just booking balcony in the first place.

And now I'll have to look at other ship differences because on some sailings (other ships)  balconies were very close to inside. I was kind of surprised.

  5. Just got off Anthem this past Saturday. Still a cheapie noob so booked inside staterooms and received the Royal Up offers.  I wanted the OV balcony and it was $150 min. pp. I bid 160. I heard nothing and 2 days before sailing I figured it was a no go.  Who wants an inside stateroom right?

Well about an hour later I got my accepted offer. Great midship location on deck 9. And supposedly the ship was sold out.  Maybe a last minute cancellation?

I would think you could skip the tuna (or let them know ahead you only can used cooked seafood).  I just did the "regular set up", so I didn't inquire about about any changes.

I'm bummed because right after I posted I went to book and it's no longer in the cruise planner.  I'll keep checking to see if someone cancels or maybe onboard I can book.

I just did this on the 3/15 Anthem sailing (and I sail solo).  I had a good time (although my tablemates were not exactly outgoing unless with each other).  Still, I enjoyed the experience (and the sushi) enough that I will do it again if I get the chance on Allure or next year on Anthem.

I'mon Anthem this Saturday. Will they let us just use the cooked seafood?

About 10:20 am. There were so many more people there before us waiting in seats for regular boarding. We never had to sit.

Maybe I got super lucky. I was on Anthem in February during school break and we got onboard quickly without the Key. We got to port around 10:30 and had lunch and in our cabin by 1 sharp.

No long lines for embarking or itinerary ports either. I'm probably now completely jinxing us for our Saturday departure for Bermuda. I'll report after!

Depending on when you're there (or if you pre-purchase the tickets) - not a great idea.  I was on Anthem last April, it was during a school break week and there was a SpaceX launch that day.  We spent 3 hours on the bus between the port and KSC.  Halfway there they found out that anyone that didn't already have tickets was being turned away (we did, through the excursion, of course).  They ended up requesting to detour us on roads only open to KSC vehicles, and getting approval for it.

Now, we may have run into unusual circumstances - 2 or 3 ships in port (there was a Disney ship there and maybe another RCI ship at another terminal), spring break week, SpaceX launch - but it was one of those situations that reinforces suggestions to just go through the cruise line since the tour went out of their way to get us there (and in time for the launch).  I was glad we had only done the transportation and entry, we hardly had time to do much while there.

Good to know! I did buy the non guided tour through RC. The only thing I didn’t buy through them is Aquaventure Atlantis because I found it for 100 less for my son and I through another vendor.

  10. Hey all. Probably a question that could be answered by calling RC but I'm not certain I can rely on that!  Cruise planner shows 2 excursions for Kennedy space center. One is guided and one is not. The one that is not states transportation included. Anyone know if the guided one has transportation too?

Or do I just buy the tix from the Space center and Uber it? Thank you!
