  1. Dear all

This is our first fly cruise and Caribbean

A plea from my husband(as he usually takes more clothes than me) there are 4 formal nights and smart casual Do you just need shorts and t shirts for the rest of the time

We are on your cruise too. There is a get together on the 1st Sea Day if you are interested in joining. Sunset Bar 1pm on 14th Feb. Going to be a big turnout I think from the PO Cruising the Caribbean FB page.;)

  2. I have not seen much about this port - any ideas? Is Britannia the only ship calling there this year?

I am on the B604 Cruise in Feb and have been searching for info. One member of a PO Cruising the Caribbean (FB group) told me that there are 120 vendor stalls selling jewellery, art, T-shirts, and a great variety of handicrafts in nice palm-frond roof booths. All are selling their handmade wares in US dollars, pounds, or euros, so there is no need to change money into bolivars if you're planning to stay in the port area and not go to see the island. There is a cultural dance show in the morning in the main plaza. There is live music and other forms of dancing throughout the whole day. There are also a few bars and you can find refreshments easily.

There is also a small but nice and very clean beach for cruise tourists to enjoy. The access to this beach is absolutely FREE and it has clean restrooms/toilets.

You can rent shaded lawn chairs, jet skis, paddle boats, and banana boats there. You will not see local islanders on this beach - it is reserved for tourists on cruise ships.

I also found this website -

  3. Would be interested to know if any of the contributors on this thread to date have been to Island Margarita (Venezuela). I've been on seven cruises and only used the ship's excursion once. However, this port of call is troublesome as there appears to be only one main operator, namely Magic Tours, and they require 50% of the fee in advance , payable to a bank in New York.

Add to the mix that reviews imply that the vast majority of taxi drivers offering tours speak little or no English. Please advise . Thanks Paul

Helen, do you mind if I share these on the PO in the Caribbean page please? They are great. There are ACTUAL photos of AFT cabins that we and our friends are going to be in!!! :)

  5. Just booked with him for later in October. Can't wait

I have booked him too for our cruise in Feb.

You can do the Atlantis sub in Aruba as well as Barbados - we did it last time. I booked it independantly.

Did you all know there is a PO Cruising the Caribbean forum as well on FB?

  6. Attached are the lastest updates to the cabin reports. Please keep the reports coming and don't forget to include your ship name!

Email me if you see any mistakes or would like an Excel version.

Thanks soooooo much for putting this together. We have just had to re book our original cruise on Constellation and are now booked on Equinox. The cabins we had were 1541/1543 on Deck 11 and thanks to you we have found out that they are extremely noisy and got our TA to move us onto other side of the deck where according to the chart, it is lovely and quiet - so a huge big THANKS from me. xxxxxxx
