  1. Got an email for my 10-day Mexico cruise in December. Moved from BF to MD. Is that good? I've never been in a Mini-Suite, but they moved me from R747, which has a big balcony already. Is the MD balcony bigger?

  2. We were there last April. It was okay (though a lot of military presence). There was a good breakfast spot on a pier a bit down the road when you leave the ship to your right. (I think 100% natural or something like that). Apart from that. It's not really a lot to write home about. It's pretty, but run-down.

  3. Hamilton in SF currently slashed prices. The Orpheum is huge and they are not selling out anymore. I expect it to extend one more time to cover the summer period (BroadwaySF who owns the Orpheum doesn't have anything else lined up in that theatre so far, and all the other touring shows that they put on are at the smaller Golden Gate theatre).

I recommend seeing this show, it's a great production. The cast recently changed a bit, but the majority of people that are still there have been fantastic.

I am deciding on how much $ to spend on Princess Gift cards to pay for on board purchases. I don't want to overspend on cards however.

Are there any items in the gift shop that are at fair value and that are really nice?

What is the perceived benefit of getting gift cards ahead of time? If you lock money on a gift card, you might be compelled to spend it (even if it doesn't make sense). If you just get on the cruise and spend whatever you like and pay then and there, it's the same, but you don't have the perceived pressure of having to use up whatever credit you have.

  5. Tipping culture in the US is crazy. NCL should pay their staff a proper wage and not shift the responsibility to the customers. I understand this would result in higher fares, but takes out a lot of the fuzziness. They could already do this and just roll the service charge into the cruise fare, but they won't, because that way they couldn't profit of the "free" incentives the way they do now.
