"Abandon Ship" has NO signal and is only initiated by the verbal command of the Ship's Master.

Abandon ship can actually be followed either After the GES or the CAS(Crew alert) signalling that the ship is in Imminent danger and EVERYONE should head to the Muster Stations Immediately and when they arrive they will be escorted to the survival craft without delay.

Mr So and So please come to the office immediately

"Mr SO" tends to mean either a security alert OR calls either a Security officer or the Head of Security to an Incident which would tend to be said over the security radio.

Can’t happen as many of the Norwegian ports close down sometime in October.

P&O have just updated the Schedule and it turns out it heads to different places and that the Norway cruises end quite late in the year compared to other ships

Unfortunately most other companies are doing the same.

Many companies are having the same problem and it is not logical to with the charge that Amsterdam, many passengers will not be able to do anything as P&O states that Ports are subject to change at any time, this means that there will be no change until Amsterdam remove this charge

Thanks for replying ts2004, I knew that someone on here would be able to answer this for us!

No problem! I would suggest organise the cabins to adjoin by the room and the balcony and the stuard(ess) should deal with it when they are available which tends to be around 5-25mins.

Interested in when they will go on sale, but also like to know when the itineraries will be available.  I am a bit out of date as to P&O's release times over the last few years as we have not been sailing with them.

2021 will be release late 2019/early 2020 for all guests, As of march they will be their Elite tiers only.

We have been issued or flights to malta for our cruise in October. We dont land until 18.40 which means getting late on the ship.

P&O should see the late arrival and helay the ship, if they say "you're too late" then you can start arguing the case.

Wanting to tackle P&O, Cunard etc on this change (they're currently saying no compensation and no cancellation rights) effectively, and win?

There is no way you are changing their minds unless you want everyone on a cruise to Amsterdam to pay for their fees that they will cost the cruise line, for a 2000 passenger ship (excluding crew) alone is €12,000 and I would not want to pay extra for my holiday to Amsterdam

Obviously you realised that was a tongue in cheek comment.

Nothing wrong with admitting you enjoy cruises, they suit our family perfectly. It good that not everyone wants to go on them as it keeps the prices down.

However when you search early deals you can get the prices lower than a Balcony Late deal which can attract people to them.

    We've booked two cruises this year, the Britannia in June and the Ventura in October, both in suites. I'm a little unclear as to the added benefits attached to being in a suite. As I understand you get the following;

    1 Priority embarkation

    2 Breakfast in the epicurean

3 the option of having MDR meals in the cabin

4 Free room service if ordered through the butler

Are there any others and as this is our first time in a suite what is the correct protocol for tipping the butler?.

    Many thanks

As of May 2019 there will be no service charges meaning tips to butlers won't be mandatory. You can request to opt out of the Service Charges, Priority Embarkation is available for all Suite/Mini Suite Guests, Breakfast In the Epicurean is a Possibility, Meals in the Cabin can be requested to the Butler,  Free Room Service I have no idea.

Really frustrated to receive itinerary change - no longer docking at Amsterdam but  at IJmuiden - a 40 minute bus ride away. We’re overnight in Amsterdam but what would have been really handy to pop back to the ship for a quick shower and change before heading into the city for dinner seems like an ordeal. Overnight in Amsterdam was the reason we booked the cruise and now it’s had the shine taken off it. No offer of any goodwill gesture from P&O but they’ve certainly had lots of complaints. Couldn’t tell me why, only that it was for operational reasons. Anyone know what’s happened?

There is a new €6 Per head docking fee in amsterdam for all ships now, Cruise lines do not want to pay around €12,000 just to dock for 1 day. And if they continued operations there will be an increase in prices.

Before anybody says anything, I know on the FAQ it says 12 weeks before sail date. I'm just wondering if p&o follow this to the letter? Or are they released before, or even after that 12 week mark? We sail on the 1st of June and eager to get them booked!

Usually they put them out about 12 Weeks, for their Caribbean Tiers+ they can book them I think around 16 weeks before sailaway.

We are on Azura in March, and have booked adjoining cabins on C deck. Does anyone know if we will be able to open the partition between the two balconies, to enable us to share the outside area. Many thanks.

I can say with 100% Guarantee you will be able to as we have had non adjoining cabins and the partitions are able to open throughout the ship. You will need to speak to Housekeeping On Board regarding this, Hope you found this useful!
