May I ask where you looked for this to find it ?

I logged in and went to 'My Account' and from there to 'Future Cruise Credits'. From

there scroll down as they were at the bottom of the page! Hope that helps.

My account also shows an “available” OBC that is not tied to a particular reservation. It looks the same as the first one on your list and comes from linking my AARP number to my HAL account. To apply it to a specific reservation, just book a new cruise and it will be automatically applied (at least in theory). No option to apply it to an existing reservation.

That expiration date is related to the time you linked the accounts. Also, the $50 is the smallest amount of OBC one could get with AARP membership. Longer trips are given more OBC. I think our 15-day transpacific qualified for $200.

I don’t know about your second OBC item, but with an expiration date for booking and sailing, is it possibly related to credit from a cancelled cruise? If so, I think that would also be applied when booking anew cruise and not applied to an existing reservation.

Thanks for that, very helpful. I think I worked it out: the $250 is the shareholder benefit for a 14+ day cruise (and we're off to Norway in a few weeks). HAL now uses an app called StockPerks to verify shareownership and the amount and timing of that onboard credit does indeed line up with my application for the shareholder benefit. Thanks, again.

  3. Good news! I posted in this thread on 5/7 about my various refunds. In the last few

days, I received the full refund of the original cruise to my credit card. This was for

the 3/14 Mexico cruise. So, we are now fully reimbursed and have a generous FCC

and $500 OBC. So, my message to others is: hang in there! HAL seem to be dealing

    with the massive backlog.

Now, to research European cruise for June 2021 ...

  4. I'm still confused about FCC etc. Here's a copy of the relevant parts of an email we received when we were cancelled by HAL:

" All guests will receive a full refund of their cruise fare, Holland America Line Flight Ease air, pre- and post-cruise hotel packages, prepaid shore excursions and other prepaid items, and taxes, fees, and port expenses. Your refund will be processed automatically via the method of payment used to pay for your cruise.

As your cruise has been cancelled so close to departure, each guest will also receive a Future Cruise Credit equal to 100% of the base cruise fare paid on this voyage. The terms and conditions of this Future Cruise Credit appear below."

This suggest that I get a full refund of monies paid and - in addition - FCC of 100% on top of that?

After 4 weeks of waiting for this, I logged in and saw some link which suggested I had to make a choice ... I chose FCC as

the better value. I've received FCC (although no one can figure out why I got that number). I wonder if clicking that link over-rode

(in some way) the notification I got from HAL.

  5. My wife and I were on the 3/14 Mexico sailing and it was cancelled by HAL the day before. OK, we understand why

and we hadn't left home yet.

We did buy some extras before sailing and these were refunded to the credit card promptly. I "spoke" with a HAL

chat-bot ~2 days ago about FCC etc as it was very close to the 60-day limit and I'd seen nothing. Today, I got an

    email that FCC was available!

So, here's the breakdown. (Base?) cruise fare was $1027.12 and taxes/fees were $224.0. We later purchased

    an upgrade for $99 pp. The total of all those is (1027.12 + 224.0 + 99.0 + 99.0) = $1449.12.

Our FCC was $847.50 plus $250 OBC each. The only way I can come near that number is:

     125% base fare = 1027.12 * 1.25 = 1283.90, then add on the taxes/fees and the upgrade (+224 + 198) to get

$1705.9 and divide that by 2 to get $852.95 (close enough).

    Does that sound right?

    Thanks in advance.
