In researching hotels for a post-cruise stay in Rome this fall, I've noticed many of the booking websites allow for booking in various currencies. Is there any advantage to booking in EUR and letting my credit card convert to USD vs booking directly in USD?
The only potential difference I am seeing is difference in exchange rate. For informational purposes the card would use has no foreign transaction fees.
Thanks for sharing the wisdom of experience!

Big Thank You to everyone for the thoughts. I've got some answers and some things to keep on my mind as I move forward.
Smooth seas and following winds all.

I have a query for those experienced in booking with EZ Air.
As some background, I normally book our flights myself when travelling in North America. We are booked on an Eastern Mediterranean itinerary next fall and am thinking booking flights through Princess may be a better way to go. We are flexible in our departure and return points to the States when booking the transatlantic flights.
How easy is it to change a flight itinerary once booked, but before final payment date? Most price watching tools say booking in mid-summer would yield the lowest prices - but I am not sure this is true when using a bulk reseller like EZ Air. I have found a round trip set of flights which would mostly suit our needs, but being this far out I am concerned about finding flights at better times and better prices later in the game.
I appreciate you sharing the benefit of your experience. Thanks!

The new app doesn't have the QR code. Just green or blue. I've not been asked recently whether I was green or blue, just if I had my medallion
The new app does have the QR code. It is in the "Boarding Pass" tab toward the top of the home page.

Are you getting logged in properly on the website? What type of device are you using to log in (other than your phone?)
I have much better luck with dining reservations by NOT using the app...strictly online using the "web version" of the app in your cruise personalizer.
I will admit I'm confused by this. When I go onto the Princess website and access my booking (Caribbean Princess, January 2024) under the dining tab, it tells me all reservations have moved to the Medallion App. There is no way to access dining in this area.
Is there another place I should be looking?
For the record, I made my reservations for both MDR and specialty through the app. I'm more curious for future reference if I should happen to encounter issues like the OP.

I have made several specialty dining reservations with the premier package and have not been charged, even on the same reservation don’t know why this was charged and they can’t even find where I was charged but there was a charge on my credit card for $78. The screen clearly shows that I had a dining credit. My CVP had to send it to their IT team.I agree. I've seen a similar issue with the exact same numbers when booking an advance reservation through the app with the premier package. In my case, the charge to my CC has always been reversed, like with a hold. Looks like the hold never got reversed for you. Good luck.

Slightly off topic, but to perhaps clarify what the specialty dining charge is for Raider: I noted that when you make a reservation for specialty dining with Plus or Premier, Princess will charge the card on your account for the cost of the dining. The cost is then removed later and the dining is "charged" to the package.

Following along. Thank you for sharing!

We were on the Regal in April. I had no issues and was quite happy with the speeds. I agree there were occasional slowdowns, but fortunately it never interfered with what I wanted to do, including streaming live video.

The port in Georgetown is in the middle of town, within walking distance of plenty of shopping.
in response to your second question, I’ve found cruisetimetables.com to be a good resource.

Thank you for letting us ride along! We will be on the Island for this itinerary in December.

I’m interested in the same questions as we will be there in early December. I’d also ask if anyone has tried the new Coral Beach next to Royal Palms.

I actually think that this is the easiest way to use them. No issues or problems at all. Thanks!

Are there any issues using the gift cards through the website? I’m looking toward buying gift cards to use to purchase excursions etc prior to our trip.

Passport Card....Anyone once on the ship just took your Passport Card when going ashore vs your passport?
Tom😎
I’ve done this. Any government issued, picture ID will work for getting back on the ship though. Just be aware, the card will not allow you to fly if you get stranded.

Duplicate post.

Rates are normally quoted as per-person, double occupancy. So if the price quoted is $800 that would mean the cabin costs $1600 with two people in it.
As as I read your post, it seems to me the deal they’re promoting is on a “Second guest.” I read this as a third person in the cabin.

The right side seems more laid back. Everything was less crowded. When we were there last April, there was a bar at the edge of the beach above the clamshells. The beach is definitely rocky - I suggest water shoes if you plan on going into the water.
As I remember, getting there from the tender involved a few stairs on the dock. I recall a bit of initial confusion as to how to get there. I understand how someone might think you need to go outside the fence; but as stated above, you do not.

My wife and I were seated in Belini’s on the Regal Princess. Our table was at the rail overlooking the bottom level of the piazza where the Beatles tribute band was playing. A crowd had gathered with many fellow passengers squeezing up to the rail for a view, including standing over the two of us. Our waiter delivered a round of drinks saying it was from one of those passengers who were crowding our personal space.
I was was able to figure out which fellow traveler had bestowed this small kindness and thank them for their gracious gesture.

We were on the Regal in April before she went to Europe. We got lattes with the premium beverage package every morning including disembarkation. No charges showed up on our account.

From the Princess Premiere Beverage Package terms and conditions:
- The package may be used on our private islands, all food and beverage venues, and other areas such as the theater or public spaces that offer beverage service. Selections and service are limited to each venue’s menu offerings and operating hours.
I did not see similar language in the other Princess drink packages. I’m also wondering if the different lines within Carnival Corp. have differing policies.

It makes sense that letting the credit card make the conversion would be cheaper. It would be closer to the actual exchange rate than a hotels which probably isn't updating very often.
Thanks for the nudge to logic! Lol.
I do appreciate the responses.
