Hi Bigmike. Thank you for your reply. I am happy to see that for the moment the 'no vibrations ' are in the majority [emoji3].

Thank you bcrien. The review that I read did mention that the vibrations were on the port side of deck 10.....we are on the starboard side!

Thank you cruiseluvva for your positive reply.
We obviously expect some noise/ vibrations after all will be on a very large liner but the review I read stated that the vibrations were unbearable! Maybe the reviewer is sensitive to vibrations.

I have just read a review which says that between stairwell B and C there is a lot of vibration in the cabins. We are due to board QM2 in Dubai in April and have a midship cabin on deck 10.
Could anyone please give me their experiences....good or not so good!

Hello fantasy51. Thank you for your positive comments. After all the comments in favour of an accessible cabin I now feel confident that our cruise will be everything we had wished for.

Thank you for the information kirkc. It has been most helpful. I must admit that I did wonder if a pounder was the American term for lounger!:)
-
Yes it is a P1 cabin. Could I ask you kirkc if you had sun loungers on the balcony? Cruiseluvva did mention that she had been in a wheelchair accessible cabin on QV and the ramp took up a lot of space on the balcony leaving not enough room for sun loungers. We are on the QM2 for 20 days and loungers would be appreciated.
We certainly wouldn't want to keep this cabin in someone really needed the facilities Chunky2219

Thank you for you replies. Yes BlueRiband that is one of the pitfalls of booking a guaranteed cabin. My TA did phone Cunard who said the only difference would be a wet room without bath, handrails ( well my husband is 70:) ), and a ramp onto the balcony. The plus is that the room is larger. I did find a Cunard video where they showed the ramp and unlike the one you mentioned Cruiseluvva this one was quite small. I sure that it will be fine!

We have just been given our cabin number for our next cruise on QM2. It is 10053. I see that this cabin is wheelchair accessible. Does anyone know what differences there would be in the cabin.
-
Thank you al for your advice. We also have a flight and therefore are restricted on luggage.
-
Sorry for the delay in responding. We are looking at booking a Cunard transfer and as our flight home isn't until early afternoon it seems like we will be in plenty of time. We are in a PG suite but do not know if that will be considered regarding disembarkation times.
Thank you all for you information.

Hi
Could you give my husband and I some ideas as to what to wear for the Mariners Ball please. I understand that it is blue and white stripes or naval. I have looked for photos but haven't found any. There are lots of photos and videos of other themed formal nights but not this one.
We will be cruising out of Dubai to Southampton in April 2017 on QM2.

Thanks for the information cruiseluvva. We are looking at booking an onward journey to Heathrow for 9.30am. So if we are off in the first groups that would be fine. Our flight from Heathrow is not until 13.55.
-
Thank you for all your input. As our cruise is not until April 2017 we will see how the Swiss franc to the £ is doing then (:D) and buy in Heathrow if the £ is still low. Otherwise we will buy in Dubai.

Hi Vistaman
We are actually passing through Geneva airport , Heathrow, Indira Gandhi Airport Dehli and finally Dubai. The cruise is at the tail end of a longer holiday! We didn't want to carry duty free around with us, especially during our stay in India, and so thought that it would be best to buy it in Dubai airport. Maybe we could look at the airport in Dehli as an option.
Thanks for your input.

Thank you Darcy15. It certainly doesn't look as if we will have difficulty finding a couple of bottles of wine. :)
-
Thank you for your reply Downunder. I should have been more specific. We are looking to buy some wine to take on board QM2 with us. I am presuming that in the duty free at Arrivals they do have alcohol:)
We have transited through on quite a few occasions but it will be our first time staying in Dubai.

Hi,
We are sailing on QM2 out of Dubai in April 2017. Could anyone tell us if there is a duty free shop in the arrivals hall at Dubai airport please.
-
Hello everyone
We are booked into a Princess Suite on QM2 sailing from Dubai to Southampton arriving in early May 2017. I would like to know how disembarkation is organised please as we are trying to book our onward trip to Heathrow.
-
I would like to thank everyone for all their comments. I do feel more positive about having a cabin on one of these decks now. Although I will check out the new deck plans to see what changes have been made since the refurbishment.

Hi Bell Boy,
Thanks you for your information. I was referring to QM2.

My husband and I were on the last section of the QM2 world cruise this year from Dubai to Southampton. I can assure that that your wife will not look out of place wearing pants and a nice top for the formal nights. She could also add an evening shawl. We were in the Princess Grills and there were women doing exactly that. Please just relax and enjoy your cruise.
