  1. Thank you for all the replies, my question has been answered, so for the most part this thread is complete. It is sad to see any business go belly up and staff lose their income. In these difficult times we are prepared to share the pain, but it would have been a simple matter to have generated an auto response that explained their situation. We remain grateful every morning we wake up and for the food on our table, so very many are not this fortunate.

  2. Has anyone been able to contact Saga Travel GeoIceland? When our cruise was cancelled I contacted all of our private excursion providers. Those in Norway were fantastic and provided refunds in a timely manner. Saga replied that it would take 3-4 weeks, but never arrived. Now e-mails to them bounce back. The amount involved is significant. Will now try to take the credit card path. This is the first time in 15 years that private suppliers have let us down, but there again these are strange and difficult times.

  3. SCTI refunded my premium and waved the cancellation fee. Regardless, what use is paying extra for cancellation for any reason if there are reasons to not cover you, it's a bit like the fire insurance that did not cover melting during the last bush fire season. It will be good to know who were the best performers when this crisis is over. So keep adding to this forum with your +ives and -ives. For my part SCTI gets 2 stars on a 5 star scale for refunding the premium. 

  4. Did this trip about five years ago. DW has walking difficulties and could not keep up with guide so we took our time but missed out on the guides talk. Only made it to the treasury, where she rested, while I went on. She was very slow on the way back due to the slope, missed lunch. On time, but last ones to the bus. Donkey carts were crazy, wanted to get in max trips up and down. Some in our excursion ended up with sore backs. There may be better transport down now??
