Those getting emails from Celebrity, did you book direct with them rather then a TA? Haven’t received anything here, I booked through TA. Thanks.

I received an email direct from Celebrity and we booked through a TA here in UK

We are in the UK. We paid all monies to our travel agent as the cruise was part of a package. The travel agents are at full stretch here at the moment so we will wait to hear from them in due course.

I emailed our TA last night to seek clarification, I received a phone call this morning.

Our TA will will deal directly with Celebrity and sort out the refund. It may take sometime as they are of course swamped with work.

I got the Celebrity email and will read it properly in the morning. It's quite late in the UK, but my muddled brain thinks they are offering 125%FCC valid through 2021. You can swap the FCC for a cash refund at anytime you chose( I think ). With British Airways I booked a no changes ticket. That was £3000 for 2 in premium against over £4k with changes. If they cancel I get a refund. If I cancel I get a voucher.  Not bothered if I get a voucher, but would prefer a refund. Got time to wait for their best offer. It's only money. Healthy travel is more important.

I will make contact with TA tomorrow. We contacted BA last week, tickets were non refundable but we got vouchers to use whenever, though there may be an option for refund but I may have scuppered that by cancelling. All in all I’m not too worried, as you say it’s only money, this present situation makes you question all that is most important and money certainly is not.

If you go through the link, it asks if you booked direct or whether you are submitting the form as a a travel advisor. You will need to contact your TA to initiate the refund.

In the past Celebrity won’t talk to you if you booked via a TA, You have to contact the TA.

Thank you both. I guessed this may be the position. I will contact TA.
    Keep safe everyone.

  4. Surely by implementing these new protocols, Celebrity are changing the terms of the contract? Would this not then require them to issue a refund and not a FCC?

If you fall into this category and to avoid arriving at the port to be denied boarding, you cancel in advance, are you then in the position of having cancelled therefore expect a FCC? Alternatively, if you arrive at the terminal and Celebrity deny you boarding, they are actually cancelling and you should be entitled to a full refund.

    Does this make sense?

  5. Like everyone else, I’m so very disappointed. We are booked to cruise to Alaska in May, but first we have 10 days in Canmore then driving to Vancouver for the cruise. We then have 4 days in Vancouver following the cruise. All flights, hotels, car hire and cruise is all fully paid for.

We are holding fire to see what transpires in the next few weeks. At the moment we are considering cancelling the cruise part, the thought of being quarantined onboard  for ex number of days is not very inviting but will wait and see what transpires, knowing we can cancel with 48 hours notice.

In this case we would hopefully still travel to Canada, and just extend our stay in this area, unless of course there are any further changes. Only one of the hotels we have booked is refundable and that is the 4 nights in Vancouver. Oh and we have also pre booked a whale watching trip in Juneau independently. 😢
    Disappointed doesn’t come near.

Easiest is to Google - Celebrity Cruiseline Moveup. You need your reservation number and last name to sign in. The website is explanatory. You will see classes of cabins and bid amounts. You bid what you like - or not.

Celebrity has up till 48 hours before the cruise to accept your bid. If accepted it is final. They assign the cabin.

If you are signed up for email notifications you probably (not always) will get an invite from Celebrity.

Thank you I will take a look.
