Loving your review. Sorry it is almost Friday. Would be there any way you could post The Eden Wine menu?

So from sail away to now, how have the seas been?
Still holding on to the rails like I’ve had one too many… but up until today, it’s been very smooth.
- Hope it gets better. I am concerned for the last sea day as I do not do well with high seas/motion. On a scale, of 10 being worst, what would you gauge the rocking and rolling to be?
-
Can you name the Luminae Maitre'd, Host/Hostess and Sommelier. Thanks.
Yes! Maître’d is Ugur. Nia is the Hostess and Melvin is the Sommelier.Thank you. Have not met any of them yet, but will soon.

I love it when that happens. I sleep so much better being gently rocked back and forth !

We are in Seattle again and boy is it delightful to stay on the ship while most everyone else has to disembark!
They requested B2B Retreat passengers meet in the Retreat Lounge at 9:15am. We didn’t want to fight the crowds trying to get breakfast and then off the ship, so we hung out in our cabin until then. Once we got to the lounge, several disembarking passengers were still waiting to leave. There were drinks and the latte machine was running. There wasn't any food out, which wasn’t unexpected. but I sure could have used a caramel croissant. lol.
There were 2 other couples in the Retreat doing a B2B, and we were told about 60 people total on the ship were staying on for the next cruise.
After about half an hour, Inrich, one of the the Reteat concierges told us to follow him out to the gangway where they collected our old seapass cards, took new photos, gave us new ones and beeped us back onto the ship. We were instructed to hang out in the retreat for another hour or so until our rooms were ready.
It was no hardship. It was a gorgeous day in Seattle and we were able to sit out on the Retreat deck area. When official boarding started, we went back to our room, which is the same one as last cruise.
Apparently our butler felt bad about the whole WhatsApp debacle last week and was appreciative that we were so low maintenance. No cheap swill for us this sail away!

The menu in Luminae looks lame. Doesn't look that much different from 3 years ago.

Unfortunately, the hours are very inconsistent. Last night it was after 11 and the previous day it was at 5. It really depends on the departure time and how long it takes to get into international waters. Sorry I can’t be more specific.
This is helpful, thanks.

Last night we nearly missed dinner because DH was on a roll in the casino! But still, we pulled away and went up one deck to dine in Blu. I’m sure we were the last to be seated. We had a nice 2 top in the middle of the venue and the view through the window was spectacular. One thing I noticed about Blu with regard to the view is that it’s mostly lacking. There are 5 banks of windows and only 40% have a view. The other 60% of windows are blocked by life boats just outside. Regardless, we enjoyed Blu all the same.
We both had the beef short rib which was very tender and not very fatty. We shared a lobster and spinach pasta appetizer and way too much bread!
Nice to hear about the casino being good to DH. Can you post the hours if you have them. Thanks.

Following along. What was the result of pointing out the price discrepancy? (was it sommelier or waiter?)
It was the sommelier. He poured me a glass and didn’t up charge it.
Thanks. (It wouldn't let me reply to post.) Good info. Glad you spoke up.

Pictures are great! Love the food review too! Would you be able to post some Retreat information. Who is the Retreat Manager? Luminae Maitre'd and Host/Hostess? Luminae sommelier. Thanks.

Enjoying your review very much. We are onboard July 5th and you are helping us enormously!
Thanks.

We board in less than 2 weeks. I will report out! I know the Juneau stop will be a late casino opening...because we don't leave port until 10 pm. looks like the casino opens at 10:45 that night.
That would be great. thanks.

Boarding in July. Hoping someone reads before and answers.
-
Does anyone know opening hours for casino after leaving Alaskan ports?
-
Our April experience on the Mera vs last July was different. Not as good. Breakfast was good/same. Fruit, croissants, apple turnover, salmon on toast. Everything throughout the day and evening was not. Last year, flavored chips, this year walnuts and raisins. After missing dinner one night, went to topsail lounge, about 1030, chocolate covered apples. It seems variety has downgraded. Hope you have better luck.

I think the 3 concierges, Joao, Hassan? and Amber started off a little overwhelmed. Over the course of the 2 weeks things improved and we had good luck with them. We thought the Retreat Lounge was very nice. Good place to stay cool while enjoying suite amenities.

This occurs on Celebrity Cruises. After restart we were on the second sailing of the Edge and while exploring the ship the first day a staff member comes out of a specialty dining are and greets us by name. We asked Guests Relations Officer Rodrigo who we knew from the Equinox how an unknown staff member was able to address us by name never having made his acquaintance. "Easy" was his reply "We have your pictures up in our guest relations office." (They have all the upper suite guests pictures up in their office and the staff are encourage to make such personal greetings by surname).
We would always consider another cruise on E-class Celebrity ship, but right now MSC Yacht Clubs are 1/2 the price on their top top suites (RS & OS) and YC has a reserved pergola on the dedicated sun deck (Celebrity has more chairhogs FCFS). YC has reserved theatre seating every night, Celebrity only Gala night. YC restaurant is open port days, not Celebrity Luminae. YC has elevator overrides (when it is working) for guests, nothing like this on Celebrity. These features alone make our choice of MSC easier. So whenever we "get the urge (to book another cruise line, I whip out this preference list), I lie down a while and just let the feeling pass." to paraphrase Churchill
We sailed the 2nd and 3rd sailing of the restart in a Celebrity Suite. Loved it. What suite were you? Luminae was great too.
-
For us, because of personal likes and choices, it wasn't the same. Little things changed.
We agree with you about "little things changed' We still think the YC is a good value and will sail again, but from the July 2023 to the April 2024, Meraviglia sailing, first one was an 8, recent one was about a 6 rating.

Haven't heard from him. He is on the Seashore, not the Mera.
OK thanks. What has been your best food item so far?
-
Following along Jamie. The food looks good. On an aside, any idea how it is going for your brother on the Mera/YC?

We sailed the Edge 3 times in 2021. We had Rhona as our butler and she was awesome. Ivory and Marko were in Luminae and they were wonderful. Rabin was on the retreat SunDeck and was fantastic. If anyone knows where any of them are now, would love to hear. And also your favorites too. Thanks.

We mostly do too. But I think they need to add more options. (and remove anything with pig feet!)
